教学设计 (PUZZLES IN GEOGRAPHY) 马馨馨 I. 教学目标: 1. Enable the Ss to read effectively under the guide of the teacher, and made them have a better understanding of the United Kingdom. 2. Widen the Ss' international vision. 3. Form the Ss' consciousness of cross–culture communication. 4. Help the Ss think about using some reading skills and methods. 5. Keep the Ss’ burning desire and interest. II. 学情分析: Students in senior 2 have already attained stage 6 ,however they are lack of the background knowledge of British, such as history ,geography ,and culture etc. .besides, the Ss don't have an awareness of using reading strategies ,and don’t know how to use them they've already learnt. III. Important points (教学重点): a. Have a total and detail comprehension of the UK from history, geography, politics, and culture etc. b. Help the Ss to learn different reading skills. Ⅳ. Difficult points(教学难点): 1. How to help them understand the history of the UK in limited time. 2. How to enable them to output what they get from the passage fluently. 3. How to improve the Ss’ fast reading ability? V. Teaching methods(教学方法): 1. Skimming & scanning methods to make the Ss better understand the whole passage. 2. Discussion methods to make the Ss understand what they've learnt in the class. 3. Pair work and group work to get every student to take part in the teaching and learning activities. ⅥTeaching procedure (教学过程): 1. Pre-reading (阅读前) 1> Tell them they will have a challenge for their listening. Show a 30-second video and ask them to find out what it is about. (1分钟) 目的:因为语速为超快语速,学生注意力必需高度集中,所以目的一是在最短时间内使学生将所有关注力放回课堂,其二是直接导入新课. 2> Brainstorm: What do you first think of first when mention the UK? (2分钟) 此活动目的是激活学生与THE UK 有关的知识储备,并为之后的阅读、编对话、和竞赛活动做好铺垫。 2> Enjoy a piece of video of the UK to have a overlook of THE UK. (3分钟) 目的:让学生对英国有一个大体又全方位的了解,从而是学生增强对即将进入的课文好奇心。 4> free talk (tell them my own experience in learning about the UK---still many puzzles.) 此环节目的为引入课文 2. While-reading (阅读过程) 1> Fast-reading to divide the passage into 3 part. (2分钟) 目的:理清课文框架,为之后的WRITING 做好准备。同时,也训练了学生skimming的阅读技巧。 2> careful reading to read the passage part by part. A: part 1(Para 1-3) Group activity. Group A: Find out the timeline in the 3 paras and tell what happened. 次活动目的是让学生了解并深入理解英国的形成过程,同时还能培养学生SCANNING AND SKIMMING的能力。 Group B: Finish exercise 1 in comprehending part at page11 on SB. Find out the relationship of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Then ask one of the group to go to the bb. To show their answer sheet on the blackboard. 次活动目的通过理清关系,可以更好的理解英国全称 (THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND) 的由来, 同时也为之后的语言输出做好充分的准备,在活动完成过程中,又有阅读技巧的渗透。(3 分钟) B:part 2 (Para 4) Find out the division of England. Group work.(1分钟) C:Find out the 4 invaders to LONDON and tell what they left. Group work.(1分钟) 3. Post reading (读后活动) 1> Competition between two groups. Show 8 numbers on the screen. Ask students who want to try choose one, and behind each number there is a question about the UK. If they can answer the questions they may get the related marks. (四分钟) 目的:重现及巩固加深本课的重点和难点,抓住学生好奇心和争强好胜的心理特点,再次加深对英国的了解,同时也是对最后一环节语言输出的最后一次铺垫和准备。 2> According to what they’ve learnt in this lesson , ask students to make a dialogue. Situation: Imagine you are visitors to the UK. You want to know something about the UK. Please make a dialogue to ask the guide Miss wang to introduce more about the UK. The teacher can give them some useful expressions on the screen: work in group of 6. One student is the guide, Miss Wang. The other 5 students are visitors. 2 minutes to prepares then ask some group to present it in front. 次活动让学生以口头表达的形式,应用本课所获得所有信息,加工整理成与导游WANG的对话,内容可以涉及与英国相关的方方面面。目的一,在应用中加深理解;其二,语言的最终目标:交际功能的体现。其三,对本课内容学生掌握程度的一个直观的检测。 4 Homework Ask the students to write a short essay to introduce the UK according to what you’ve learnt in today’s lesson. The group who wins the competition have no homework, but they will correct the homework losers do. 总结及作业 根据本课所学,写一篇一百字左右的短文,介绍英国的历史人文。竞赛获胜组免做本次作文。但隔天批改另一组的作文。 目的:使本课所学知识长效化,并加深对英国历史文化的印象。 5 板书设计 Unit 2 the United Kingdom ------ a country of countries Group 1: ?+?+?+?
