He comes from storms. 3 了解并尊重外国文化,尤其是让学生了解圣诞节的由来。 Step I: Class Opening T: Good morning, boys and girls! Ss: Good morning, teacher! T: Today many teachers come to our school to listen to us. We are very happy. I believe your performance will be wonderful. Ss: Thank you. T: Today we’ll learn Lesson 46.First we have a free talk about safety. Step II: A free talk The teacher encourages the students to have a free talk bravely. Their dialogues are about safety and accidents. The teacher tells the students to be safe in the life. Safety is first. S1: Have you ever had an accident? S2: Yes,I have. I went to Jinan Park last year. I saw a beautiful small hill. I wanted to climb it on, but I fell off. S1: Oh dear! Doesn’t climb too high or maybe you’ll fall off. S2: Thank you. The second dialogue: S1: Li Lu S2: He Wei S1: Is your home a safe place, right? S2: No, it isn’t. Many accidents happen in the kitchen and bathroom. S1: Oh, I see. Be careful with fires. Don’t use eater to put out kitchen fire. S2: Use baking soda or salt instead. Then check each other. e.g. Save … from…, sailor, the North Pole, the young soldier saved the little girl from the fire. He always wears a black jacket. Look, the boy is putting on his shoes. She is in red dress today. Etc. (Ask a few students to speak highly of the students whose handwriting is best. The teacher encourages the others to learn from them.) Step IV Listen to the tape T: now listen to the tape. Then answer the questions. 1 Do you know when Christmas is? 2 Is Santa Clause a real man? 3 Do children think how Santa gets into their houses? 4 Does your family exchange gifts at Christmas? Teacher asks a student to copy the four questions on Bb. Then check the answer. S1: Number One. Yes, I know. December 25 is Christmas Day. S2: Yes, he is. S3: Children think Santa gets into their houses from the chimney. S4: Yes, they do. (There are many students repeating the answers.) Step V Finish the tasks I Assigning the tasks Group1and Group2: Part1 Group3and group4:Part2 and Part3 Group5and Group6: Quick Quiz. T Have a discussion, ask a few students to write the important expressions on Bb. Then make sentences. II Showing and improving the language points 1 S: in+色. Wear clothes(状态) put on clothes(动作) Who can make sentences? S: The girl in red is Shang Ying S: Zhang Chenglong often wears a black coat. S: I’m putting on my clothes. The students are very active to make sentences. 2 形容词排序: 限,观, 形,令,色,国,材. S: e.g. He has a long white beard. S: e.g. This is a red Chinese wood table. 3 the poor, the rich the+adj 表示一类人。 S: e.g. We should respect the old. The+adj,谓语动词用复数。 4 Save…from…. S: save 挽救: The young soldier saved the little girl from the fire. S: 节约: If you save now, you’ll be able to buy a car now. S:浪费: Don’t waste water, we must save it. T: Very wonderful! “Save” is the important expression. We must master the word “save”. 5 grow 成长; 增长 S: I want to be an English teacher when I grow up. S: Our population of China is growing. 6 the red-nosed reindeer 7 a ninth reindeer (The students write their expressions on Bb. Then explain it one by one. The others repeat.) III Exchanging and consolidating All the students from groups practice together. Ask the students to ask and answer with the important words and expressions. S1: How many reindeer does he have? S2: He has nine reindeer. The ninth reindeer is the red-nosed reindeer. S1: How does he get into their houses? S2: He comes down the chimney. S1: How does he leave the house? S2: When he leaves, he gets up the chimney. The fourth dialogue A boy named Liu Chenggang read a composition. Father Christmas is based on a real person in history. Long time ago there was a man named Saint Nicholas. He was a kind person. He often helped others, but he didn’t want them to it was him to help. So he often climbed to the top of houses and dropped some money down the chimney. Once, when he put down the money, it went into a stocking. From then on, people put up stockings for gifts and money. Besides the stockings, Saint Nicholas also put the presents and money under the tree in the yard. (The students listen carefully. They cheer! They clap!) T: Liu Chenggong speaks very well. S5: Number 3 考查的是被动语态 is called 是被叫做…。 S6: be famous for 因…而出名。 e.g. China is famous for the Great Wall. S7: Shandong is famous for Mount Tai. S8: be famous as 因…身份而出名 E.g. Lu Xun is famous as a writer. S9: Liaocheng is famous as a beautiful water city. S10: Number5 考查的是save…from doing sth。 T: OK! Now stop here. Your performance is very wonderful. There’re many language points in this lesson. Your answers are all right. Step VII Class closing (The bell is ringing.) T: We have learned a lot of knowledge together. We are happy in class. Your performance is very wonderful. Christmas Day is coming. I hope we will have a good time together. Ss: Yeah! (The students are very excited to jump.) T: Now so much for today. That’s all.
