He ‘s 1.85 metres tall.他身高1.85米。
(1)1.85读作 one point eight five
英语中小数点的读法:把小数点读作point, 小数点后的数词逐个读出。如:1.6 读作 one point six;
(2) tall 形容词,意为“高的,高大的”。如:He is young and tall.他年轻,身材高大。
【辨析】tall与high
tall与high都是形容词,意思都是“高的”,但他们的起点不同。
(1) tall指从低到顶的距离,指人的身高和细长事物的高度时用tall,反义词是short.
(2) high指从地面到最高点,常用于物和空间的高度,也指海拔。

探究二:
How tall is he / she? 他/她有多高?
How tall“多高“常用来提问人的身高或树等细长物体的高度,其结构是”How+tall+be+主语?”. 答语可用”主语+be+数词+metre(s)+tall.”.
如:--How tall is your father? 你父亲多高?
--He is 1.75 metres tall.他1.75米高。
【拓展延伸】句型”How+形容词+be+主语?”. 可以询问物体的长,宽,高,深等,答语可用”主语+be+数词+名词(表示量))+形容词.”来回答。
如:How long is the river?这条河有多长?
It’s 4,000 metres long .4000米长。
探究三:
She ‘s a bit short.她有点儿矮。
a bit 意为“一点儿,稍微”。A bit修饰形容词或副词时,相当于a little,可以与a little互换;修饰不可数名词时应在a bit加介词of,而a little 可直接修饰不可数名词。如: There is a bit of /a little water. 有一点儿水。
