附:听力材料
(Text 1)
W: Why don't you open the door, Mark? Don't you have the key?
M: I have. But it doesn't work.
(Text 2)
M: I didn't see Tom at his desk. The manager finally raised his salary?
W: No way! They had a heated debate. And the manager decided to fire him.
(Text 3)
W: Hi, Jim! How is your summer vacation?
M: Oh, I did nothing but study.
(Text 4)
M: Shall we go for a walk?
W: Can you wait for a few minutes? I want to finish writing this letter first.
M: Don't take too long.
W: It won't be long. Why don't you go ahead and I'll meet you in the park?
(Text 5)
W: Can I help you?
M: Yes, I accidentally poured wine on this suit. Do you think the stain will come out?
W: No problem. You can pick it up in two days.
M: Good! I will need it for my sister's wedding this Sunday.
(Text 6)
M: Have you made any plan for the coming holiday? I've heen thinking of hiking.
W: I really have no time to think about it. I've been thinking about how to pass my exams, especially English literature, but I'll probably go to the beach after the exams.
M: Why the beach?
W: Well, it would be nice to be away from this cold weather and just lie in the sun and relax after working so hard.
M: That's true. Well, hiking is rather tiring since you have to walk all the time. Mm... probably I'll have to change my mind.
W: So, why not go to the beach with me?
M: That's a good idea.
(Text 7)
W: Wait. Ben! Did you say you had a party last Saturday?
M: Yeah. I invited you. I sent you an email last week.
W: Are you sure? I didn't get it... Oh, I didn't tell you. I have a new email address, I'm sorry.
M: Oh, that's OK. But I was kind of upset that you weren't there.
W: I was upset, too. And that bike trip was too awful. We got lost for four hours and we didn't get back until 7 o'clock last Saturday evening. Listen, let's go out for lunch together this week.
M:OK. That's really nice of you. So, anyway, I have to go now. I have a meeting at 9:30.
W:OK. See you then.
(Text 8)
W: Peter, time for supper. I guess you are hungry by now.
M: OK, Mum! I do feel hungry now. I'm coming soon.
W: Were you doing your homework in your room, Peter? You seem busy these days.
M: Maybe a little bit. Our English teacher asked us to read some poems and even asked us to write some. Why poems? It's so difficult.
W: But you like poems. I still remember when you were young, you always liked me to read you nursery rhymes at bedtime. You enjoyed that a lot and fell asleep soon.
M: Poems are fun to listen to or read, but to write is not that easy. I tried some times, but still don't have any clues. Mum, could you help me a little?
W: I would if I could. Why not ask your English teacher how to?
M: Good idea. I'll ask her tomorrow.
(Text 9)
W: You seem a little unhappy. What's up?
M: Nothing. Sometimes, I just feel bored.
W: Are you in any clubs at school?
M: Yes,I'm in the Science Club, but, you know, it's not very interesting.
W: Well, how about the Drama Club? There are many students interested in this club.
M: Why is it so attractive?
W: It is a great challenge to perform on the stage. And if you got a chance to act in a drama, you would be a star in the college.
M: Wow, you would be a big shot sooner or later if you join the Drama Club.
W: Stop joking. You are tall and smart. There will be more chances for you to become a star in campus drama.
M: Thank you. Maybe I will join it.
(Text 10)
In Australia, different people have their own ways of enjoyment and their own world in which to pass the time.
Most children work hard in school since they have to take various exams. After school they don't want to stay at home reading books any more. Instead, they put aside their schoolbags and go quickly to some quiet street corner to play games.
Some old people get up early in the morning and go to parks to read newspapers. After breakfast, they go to horse races, dog races or even car races. If they win, they can buy themselves a good dinner. In the evening, they stay home, watching TV, sometimes with their grandchildren.
Young people prefer to go on outings on the weekends. They go to the seashore for swimming, the forest for hunting and camping, or mountainous areas for a picnic. Then on Sunday evening, they start their long drive back home on the highways. Nobody seems in a hurry.

(2021·山西省山大附中月考)
For a while, my neighborhood was taken over by an army of joggers(慢跑者). They were there all the time: early morning, noon, and evening. There were little old ladies in gray sweats, young couples in Adidas shoes, middleaged men with red faces. “Come on!” My friend Alex encouraged me to join him as he jogged by my house every evening. “You'll feel great.”
Well, I had nothing against feeling great and if Alex could jog every day, anyone could. So I took up jogging seriously and gave it a good try two months of my life, and not a day more. Based on my experience, jogging is the most overvalued form of exercise around, and judging from the number of the people who left our neighborhood jogging army, I'm not alone, in my opinion.
First of all, jogging is very hard on the body. Your legs and feet take a real pounding (重击) running down a road for two or three miles. I developed foot, leg, and back problems. Then I read about a nationally famous jogger who died of a heart attack while jogging, and I had something else to worry about. Jogging doesn't kill hundreds of people, but if you have any physical weaknesses, jogging will surely bring them out, as they did with me.
Secondly, I got no enjoyment out of jogging. Putting one foot in front of the other for fortyfive minutes isn't my idea of fun. Jogging is also a lonely pastime. Some joggers say, “I love being out there with just my thoughts.” Well, my thoughts began to bore me, and most of them were on how much my legs hurt.
And how could I enjoy something that brought me pain? And that wasn't just the first week;it was practically every day for two months. I never got past the pain level, and pain isn't fun. What a cruel way to do it! So many other exercises, including walking, lead to almost the same results painlessly, so why jog?
I don't jog any more, and I don't think I ever will. I'm walking two miles three times a week at a fast pace, and that feels good. I bicycle to work when the weather is good. I'm getting exercise, and I'm enjoying it at the same time. I could never say the same for jogging, and I've found a lot of better ways to stay in shape.
21.The underlined word “them”(Paragraph 3) most probably refers to ________.
A.heart attacks B.back problems
C.famous joggers D.physical weaknesses
22.What was the writer's attitude towards jogging in the beginning?
A.He felt it was worth a try.
B.He was very fond of it.
C.He was strongly against it.
D.He thought it must be painful.
23.Why did the writer give up jogging two months later?
A.He disliked doing exercise outside.
B.He found it neither healthy nor interesting.
C.He was afraid of having a heart attack.
D.He was worried about being left alone.
24.From the writer's experience, we can conclude that ________.
A.not everyone enjoys jogging
B.he is the only person who hates jogging
C.nothing other than jogging can help people keep fit
D.jogging makes people feel greater than any other sport

Here is some news of the future.
March 20, 2035
There was a lot of news around the life extension drugs that hit the market a decade ago. They didn't promise that you would live forever, but they gave you a chance to extend your life an extra five to ten years. Even though the life expectancy rate at birth has increased greatly, the life expectancy for seniors hasn't improved that much. Basically, you have a greater chance to become a senior, but you will not have a much longer lifespan, and this is where the antiaging drugs intend to kick in. So, do the antiaging drugs work? Well, it is too early to tell. But the sales so far are very good.

Of the total US population of 378 million, people over 65 years of age now make up 20% for the first time. The senior ratio was only 4.1% by year 1900 and 12.4% 30 years ago.
The number of people above 65 compared to those of what is considered working ages, between 15 and 64, is currently 33.7%. Most analysts believe that ReHydro will be the dominating fuel in the future.
25.The sales of the life extension drugs so far clearly show that ________.
A. people have no faith in them
B. people want to give them a try
C. they work very well for seniors
D. they have no effect on people's health

B. It's very hard for seniors to pass the age of 80.
C. The US population has been increasing rapidly since 2005.
D. The US population has been aging rapidly since 2005.
27.We can know from the passage that the fuel of the ReHydro label is ________.
A. expensive B. cheap
C. green D. dangerous
