一、   学科、专业简介 (Disciplines Instruction)
情报学是研究情报产生、加工、传递、利用以及情报系统开发与管理的基本原理和方法的科学。它以社会情报与信息交换为研究对象。它是集成了自然科学、工科以及社会科学的综合性学科。
Information Science (IS) is the science that primarily studies the production, processing, transmission and utilization of intelligence, as well as the basic principles and methods of the management and development of information system. Its object of study focuses on the phenomenon of social intelligence and information exchange. It is an integrated cross-disciplinary science between natural, technological and social science.
情报学是现代科学技术高度发展的产物，对现代社会的发展起着至关重要的作用，尤其是在企业管理与军事部门，其应用非常广泛。情报学自产生以来，大体经历了4个发展阶段：20世纪60年代，重点研究情报处理基本技术，提高传统情报工作效能；20世纪70年代，重点研究情报处理自动化，建立自动情报检索系统；20世纪80年代，重点开发联机情报系统和区域网络化；20世纪90年代，重点发展电子情报系统、信息咨询服务和全球网络化。目前在《财富》杂志中排名前500强的世界公司中，90%都设有竞争情报部门，在世界各强国中，没有此类部门的军队根本不存在。
As the result of highly developed science and technology, Information Science plays a vital role in social development, especially its wide application in business and military management. Information Science has undergone four stages in its development: in the 1960s, the focus was on basic technology of information processing, so as to improve the efficiency of traditional intelligence service; in the 1970s, the focus shifted to the automatic information processing and the establishment of an automatic information retrieval system; in the 1980s, the focus was on the development of online information system and regional networks; in the 1990s, the focus went to the development of electronic information system, information consulting service and global network. Currently 90% companies among the "Fortune" 500 set up competitive intelligence department. As a matter of fact, there is no army without a competitive intelligence department in the world.
我校情报学专业是在整合了经济与管理学院、校图书馆、信息学院、青岛市科技情报研究所的教学科研力量的基础上申报成功的硕士点，是承担培养企业、情报资料机构、商务调研咨询服务机构、科研部门、图书馆、政府部门所需要的情报信息收集、分析、管理以及信息咨询的应用专业人才任务的学科。
The discipline of Information Science in QUST is a graduate program which successfully integrated the teaching and research of Faculty of Economics and Management, QUST library, Faculty of Information Science and Qingdao Science and Technology Information Institute. It is a discipline to cultivate the professionals who can undertake the task of intelligence information collection, analysis, management and information consulting in enterprises, intelligence agency, business research and consulting institution, scientific research department, library and government department.
二、培养目标( Objectives of Training)
本专业重点为各类型的企业、政府相关部门、大学科研机构、商务调研、咨询和服务机构以及其它决策和智囊机构培养信息搜集专家、信息及情报分析员、竞争情报主管、科技情报和专利技术研究员、智库分析研究人员等。具体要求是：学生应在德智体三方面全面发展，具有情报学领域坚实的基础理论、系统的专门知识和必要的相关学科知识，能够熟练利用计算机处理和管理信息，具有较强的数据分析能力，熟练掌握一门外语，了解本专业外文资料。具有较强的分析问题和解决问题的能力。能在政府部门、企事业单位从事信息管理和分析工作，同时也能在高等学校或相关专业研究机构从事教学与科研工作。
The program focus on cultivating information collecting experts, information and intelligence analysts, director of competitive intelligence, technology intelligence and patented technology researchers, think tank researchers and other analysts for various enterprises, relevant government departments, universities, research institutions, business investigation, consulting and service organizations and other decision-making and think-tank organizations. Specific requirements: Students should develop morally, intellectually and physically, with a solid foundation in theory, specialized knowledge and knowledge in relevant fields. Students should be skillful at computers to process and manage information, and capable of data analysis. They should have a good command of a foreign language and the foreign documentation in the field. Students should have a strong analytical and problem-solving ability and be capable of information disposal and analysis in government departments, enterprises and institutions; they should also be competent to teach and research in government, universities or research institutions.
三、学制及学习年限（Educational System and Length of Schooling）
硕士生的学制为3学年，学习年限最长不超过4学年。其中课程学习一般为Ⅱ学期，论文工作不少于1学年；可根据实际情况允许研究生提前或延期毕业；在职硕士生学习年限可相应延长半学年到1学年。
The length of schooling is three years, which should be no more than four years. Course-study for students is about two semesters and thesis writing is at least one year. According to the actual situation, students are allowed to advance or delay graduation; the years of study for non-resident students can be extended from six months to one year.

六、课程教学（Course Teaching）
研究生课程实行学分制，硕士生课程分为学位课和非学位课两部分。每位研究生在学期间应修满最低限度要求的44学分，方能达到毕业要求。其中学位课程≥22学分，研究环节13学分，其余为选修课学分。
As a credit system, Graduate courses are divided into two parts that include degree courses and non-degree courses. In order to meet the graduation requirements, each graduate should have at least forty four credits during the study period, among which the credits for degree courses should be more than twenty two, the credits for research parts should be 13, and the rest are credits for elective courses.
研究生课程的教学应充分发挥研究生的主动性和自觉性，更多地采用启发式、研讨式及参与式的教学方法，注重研究生的实践环节。课程考核分考试与考查，学位公共课一律进行闭卷考试。学位基础课、学位专业课采取闭、开卷考试与考查相结合的方式。
Graduate curriculum should give full play to students’ initiative and consciousness. The teaching approach should employ the approach of heuristics, seminar and participatory methods that focus on students’ practice. Course assessment includes examination and test. The public courses should be closed-book examination. Basic degree courses, specialized courses conduct combined assessments that include closed-book examination, open-book exam and test.
研究生研究环节包括开题报告 1学分；学术讲座1学分；实践活动1学分；中期考核 1学分；发表论文1学分，学位论文8学分。
Graduate research parts include 1 credit for thesis proposal; 1 credit for academic lecture; 1 credit for practice; 1 credit for interim assessment; 1 credit for published papers, and 8 credits for research paper.
硕士生在读期间应积极参加各类学术讲座，修满1学分。学术讲座可以是各学院开设的硕士生学术讲座课程学校或学院组织的国内外学者专家来我校的学术讲座或学术报告。 听取的学术讲座次数不应少于5次，结束后递交正文不少于4000字的心得体会报告，内容可以是综述性的，也可以是就某一个学术讲座专题的讨论。
During the study period, graduate students should participate in various academic lectures actively, which can gain 1 credit. Academic lectures include domestic and foreign scholars’ academic lectures or reports arranged by the university or faculty. Graduate students should attend academic lectures at least 5 times, and submit a report more than 4000 word, the content of which can be either a summary of the report or a discussion on the topic of the academic seminar.
应届统招硕士生需要有教学实践或社会实践环节，并计入1学分。实践环节可采取教学实践（课程辅导、实验辅导）、科研实践（指导课程设计或毕业论文等）、专业实习、参加工程项目的实践等多种形式。由(教研室或研究室)导师(指导小组)组织安排。导师(指导小组)对其效果进行考核，写出评语，评定成绩并作为必修内容记入1学分。
Fresh graduate who takes the school entrance examination should have teaching practice or social practice which worth one credit. Practice part includes teaching practice (curriculum guidance, counseling experiment), research practice (curriculum design or thesis), professional internships, participating in projects and other forms of practice. All these organized by (Department or Research) mentor (Instruction Group). The Instructor (Instruction Group) should evaluate students’ performance, and write a review that should be recorded with worth of 1 credit.
发表论文 1学分：达到学校规定的最低要求即得1学分，换算科研论文分每超10分可折算成1学分（折算学分最多只可以抵一门1学分课程）。
Paper publication that meets the minimum school requirements can achieve 1 credit. Besides the minimum requirement, every 10 research papers can be converted into one credit research papers over 10 can be converted into one credit (and the converted credit can at most make up one course which have one credit).
七、论文的要求（Dissertation Requirements）
硕士研究生课程学习成绩合格，完成各项必修环节，方可进入学位论文撰写阶段。学位论文工作是研究生培养的主要组成部分，是对研究生进行科学研究或承担专门技术工作的全面训练，是培养研究生综合运用所学知识，发现问题、分析问题和解决问题能力的主要环节，是研究生创新能力的体现。研究内容应是对我国经济和社会发展有重要意义的课题，或是学科前沿、具有重要意义的课题，要突出学位论文的创新性、前沿性和科学性。硕士研究生应在导师指导下独立完成硕士学位论文工作。完成学位论文，并通过盲评者获8学分。
Only when students get a qualified grade of the course and completing the compulsory section, can they go on to the thesis writing stage. As a major component of graduate education, thesis writing is a comprehensive training for graduate students to conduct scientific research or take specialized technical work. It is also a main part of training for the students applying the integrated knowledge to identify, analyze and solve problems. What is more, it is an embodiment of innovation. The research should have significance meaning to China's economic and social development or be a frontier of the subject. The thesis should highlight the innovative, pinioning and scientific aspect of the research. Graduates should complete master thesis independently under the guidance of the supervisor. Those who complete the thesis and pass anonymous assessment can gain eight credits.
