Have the students guess and name them in English. (Pictures of crane , sparrow, swallow, golden eagle, swan, seagull ) Descriptions: 1. It has long-pointed wings and forked tail. 2. It has many long things like a beak and a neck. 3. It has brown and grey feathers. 4. It has white feathers. 5. It has broad wings and hooked beak. 6. It has web-footed feet. Step2 Presentation about Zhalong nature reserve Have the students make presentations about Zhalong nature reserve with the help of the hints given on the ppt. Zhalong nature r ---a s place in Heilongjiang in the n of China. It p food and s for wildlife. Step 3 Discussion Show a ppt with a question and some useful expressions on. Have the students to have a discussion in groups of three of four. E.G. what can we do for Zhalong? do a bird count invite…to… count and do something for… the importance of… help…understand… make…take some actions to… Step4 Phrases Show a ppt with some important phrases learnt in this unit in Chinese or English. Have the students try to translate them into English or Chinese. 1. 去观鸟 2. 在市集上 3. 飞到南方国家 4. 湿地之一 5. 整年 Step 5 Practice Show a ppt with some expressions on. Have the students do and practice using the phrases. A. Fill in the blanks with proper phrases learnt in this unit. 1. Some birds never fly away. They stay in the reserve . 2.We didn’t know anything about the club until we to your talk last time. 3. Project Hope money the poor children to return to school.
