Step 1 Revision
1. Let the Ss write the past participle of the given verbs.

2. Let the Ss fill in the blanks with “have been to” and
“have gone to ”. Check the answers.
Step 2 Check pre-task
Check if they can pronounce the new words. Teach them to read the new words. Then let them read the new words loudly. Explain some words.

Step3 Presentation
1. Let the Ss translate some phrases.
e.g. two yeas ago, for a year, since last year
Explain : some verbs, such as “come” “go” and “leave ”, can not be used with continuous time adverbials ,such as “for two hours” or “since last month”. To talk about an action that happened at a point in the past, we will have to use “ago” and the simple past tense.
Kitty has been away from Beijing for two days.
Kitty has been away from Beijing since two days ago.
Kitty left Beijing two days ago.
2. Let the Ss go through the sentences on page.
Step 4 Presentation
Explain that if we want to express a continuous state, we can use another way like this:
buy—have /has had
borrow—have /has kept
arrive –have /has been in /at
leave – have /has been away from
join – have /has been in / a member of
die – have /has been dead
come / go –have /has been in /at
begin /start – have /has been on
stop – have /has been over
get married—have /has been married
电影开始五分钟了
The film has been on for five minutes.
It is five minutes since the film began.
The film began five minutes ago.
但在否定句中，短暂性动词可以与时间段连用
如：I haven’t bought the bike for a year.
我买这辆自行车还不到一年。
Get the Ss to read the sentences in the table.

1. 我买了这块手表五年了。
I have had the watch for five years.
2. 这位老人已经死了十年了。
The old man has been dead for ten years / since ten years ago.
3. 他已经回来三天了。
He has been back for 3 days /since 3 days ago.
4. 我离开家乡已两年了。
I have been away from my hometown for 2 years.
