Step1 Revision
Revise the words learned in Vocabulary. Let the Ss dictate some words. Then let the Ss do some exercises about it.
Step2 Presentation
1. Say: Kitty has traveled to Hong Kong Disneyland.
Have you ever been to Disneyland? I have been to many places of interest.
I have been to the Great Wall.
I have been to the Summer Palace.
Where have you been?
Let the Ss talk about their traveling with “have been to”
Explain that we use “have been to” to express the idea that someone went to some place and has already come back.
2. Let the Ss make sentences with “have been to ” e.g.
Jim has been to Shanghai twice.
Sandy has been to the park many times.
Step3 Presentation
1. Ask one student to go to the office to take notebooks. Then say: Is he in the classroom? Where has he gone? Has he gone to the teacher’s office? –He has gone to the teacher’s office.
2. Explain that we use “have gone to ” to express the idea that someone went to some place and is still there.
3. Let the Ss practice “have gone to ”
E.g. Where is Jim?
He has gone to the library.
Millie and Amy have gone to the bookshop to buy new books. They will be back in an hour.
Step5 Listening
Remind the Ss the different use between “have been to ”and “have gone to ”.
“have been to ” 表示“去过某个地方并且已经回来”
“have gone to ” 表示“去了某个地方但还未回来”
Step6 Practice
1. Let the Ss complete the conversation between Daniel and Mille on page31. Choose two students to say their answers. Check together. Then let them read the conversation loudly in pairs.
2. Show the slide. Let the Ss fill in the blanks with “have/has been to ”and “have /has gone to”.
