Step1: and lead-in
Play a guessing game about animals. First give some information, then ask the students to guess the names of the animals.(sika, deer, Chinese white dolphin,golden monkey, Chinese white tiger). Teach the new word:
upright,sharp,peaceful,female,micedaytime,while playing the game.
Step2:Discussion
Ask the students to list some characteristics of giant pandas from the following four items:Appearance , ability , character , danger
Step3:Listen and read
Listen to the tape and pay attention to some useful expressions.
Step4:Pair work
Read the report carefully and fill in a table to get to know more about giant pandas.
Step5:Talking and filling
Use some pictures to help the students to describe the bears.Then finish the report ,using the pictures and the information in the table to help.
Step6:Conclusion
Make a conclusion on how to write a report :
Strategies on how to write a report.
Get enough useful related information
Make a list of headlines
Think about the sentence patterns you want to use ,then write them down.
Start to write, look up the new words you might need in the dictionary
Read through your report ,see if there are any mistakes.
Use some decoration if you lile.
Step7:Group work
Look at the pictures,use the information on the screen,then write a report in groups with the title “…are in danger”
