Period 5 of Unit 6 Grammar
Content: Grammar P 98--101
Aims:
1. To use impretive sentences to give instructions.
2. To know and understand how to use the impretive sentences properly.
3. To use modal verbs ‘must’and ‘should’ to show one’s duty and responsibility.
Four skills: pull, brush, fur, necessary, take… for a walk, keep…warm,
three times a week, once a day, want sb. to be healthy, all over,
bark a lot, make too much noise, at least
Be quiet./Give her enough water./Don’t pull her tail.
It’s a good idea to do sth./ I’m busy at work al day./
She has enough to eat.
Others: frighten, owner, the right way to…, a book about
It’s necessary to do sth.
It’s very important not to do sth.
You don’t need to walk them.
Teaching procedures:
Step One Giving instructions
1. Check the preview
2. Give instructions to a new student on her life and study, etc.
1) Ask the students to make some sentences first.
2) Offer the students some sentences afterwards.
3. Do A1 and A2 on P98 & 99.
4. The use of ‘frighten’, ‘brush’ and ‘pull and push’.
Step Two Using ‘should’ and ‘must’
1. Check the preview
2. The use of ‘should’ and ‘must’.
1) should/ should not----It’s a good idea (not) to do sth.
