These cases can be cured or prevented.教学准备Pictures & Projectors教 学 过 程修注栏 Teaching procedures Step1: Lead-inFirst, ask students to recall the names of international charities they learnt last lesson.Then ,make them say out the function about ORBIS. Aferwards, teacher will lead the information about ORBIS doctor. Step2 listening1. play the tape-recording and ask the students to answers:Question1: Do many people in poor countries have the money for medical treatment?Question2;How does ORBIS help?Question3:How many operations does Dr Ma perform during a visit?Then check the answers. Step3 Reading1. Ask them to read the text and pay attention to the new words. And complete the exercises B1 and B2 on page 80. Then check the answers together.2. Read the new words and their revelant explanations together.3. Read again and find out the key phrases. Step4 ExplainationTeacher will explain the key points:1. affect 及物动词 表示“影响”，同义词;influence, 如： The climate affects the amount of the rainfall.2. prevent 动词，意思是;”阻止，预防“。短语：keep sb /sth from doing sth表示阻止某人做某事。如： The rain prevented him from coming.大雨使他不能来。3. operate 做手术，操作，开动a 表示“做手术“，不及物动词。表示给某人做手术时，加介词on, 如： The doctor operated on him just now.刚才医生给他做了手术。b.表示“操作或开动(机器)”如： Can you operate this computer?你会操作这台电脑吗？4. proud形容词，“骄傲的，自豪的”。表示“对.感到骄傲”, 常用be proud of. 如：We re proud of our motherland.我们对我们的祖国感到自豪。另外，pride名词，“骄傲”，常用于take pride in sb/sth“对.感到骄傲.,如:She takes pride in her success. 她对她的成功感到自豪。1. “ORBIS” ： Ask Ss what they know about ORBIS or whether they have heard of it.2.
