自读考点
1. one day=some day都可指将来的某一天，但one day还可指过去的某一天。
2. consider意思是“考虑；思考；认为”，后接名词、动名词、wh-+ to do、从句。
3. quite修饰名词短语时，常用quite a / an+形容词+名词。短语有quite a few相当多的。
4. be supposed to意思是“应该”，相当于情态动词should。
5. provide意思是“提供”，常用搭配是：provide sb. with sth.， provide sth. for sb.。
6. as…as possible=as…as one can尽可能地
7. would like意为“愿意，想”与动词want同义。would like/love+名词，表示征求意见，其肯定答语为Yes, please.，否定答语为No, thanks.；would like / love to do表示“邀请或建议”，肯定答语为Yes, I’d like / love to. 否定答语为I’d like / love to, but…
8. hope, wish意思是“希望”，两者的常见搭配有：hope to do sth.，wish sb. to do sth.。hope + that的从句，强调的希望往往是客观的，一般可以实现的愿望；wish+ that从句，从句部分为虚拟语气，一般指不可以实现的愿望。
9. it’s best to do…表建议，意为“最好……”，相当于You’d better do… 例如：
If you are ill, it’s best to see the doctor.=If you are ill, you’d better see the doctor.如果你病了，最好去看医生。
10. dream about / of…意思是“梦见某事物”，后面接名词、代词或动名词。
11. peaceful, quiet两者都有“安静”的意思，词性都是形容词，但侧重点不同，peaceful强调的是自然环境的平静，而quiet则指人为的静寂无声。
12. lively, living, alive
lively指活泼的，充满生机的，作定语或表语；living指活的，可作定语或表语；alive主要作表语，指活着的。例如：
He has a lively daughter. 他有一个活泼可爱的女儿。
There is no living things on the island. 这个岛上没有生物。
The little dog is alive now. 这只小狗现在还活着。
13. so that意思是“结果”，表示目的，与in order that同义，引导目的状语从句。与too…to，enough to do可以进行简单句的转换。例如：
He got up early so that he caught up with the first bus. = He got up early enough to catch up with the first bus. 他起得早，赶上了头班车。
She spoke quickly so that I didn’t follow her. = She spoke too quickly for me to hear. 她说得太快了，我听不懂。
14. continue=go / keep on意思是“继续”，有continue doing和continue to do结构，前者强调所做的事情始终没有变化，后者所做的是另一件事情。例如：
After half an hour’s rest, the players continued having the match. 休息半个小时后，运动员们继续进行那场比赛。
After finishing homework, he continued to read. 做完作业后，他继续看书。
15. somewhere是不定副词，意为“某处”，如果它被形容词修饰，形容词应置于其后。
