Unit 1 This is me Period Four
☆ Teaching Objectives:
1. Try to know the new friends better.
2. To use verbs and nouns to talk about sports and describe different kinds of sports

☆Teaching Contents:
1. Part D
2. Vocabulary

☆Teaching Procedure:
Step I
1. Describe a person using short, tall, big, strong, thin, slim, polite. helpful ect.
2. Talk about the hobbies: like reading/ watching TB, playing computer games/ playing football. Ask the students some open questions, eg: Who likes reading? Who likes playing computer games? Why?
Step II
1. Ask more able students to complete Part D 1 from memory. Tell the less able students to refer to the passage on page 4.
2. Ask each student to complete a profile of himself in Part D2. When they have finished, ask them to read their profiles to the partners.
Step III
1. Before you ask the students to do Part A on page 7, please talk about sports with the class. Ask the students what sports they know the English word for.
2. Ask the students to complete Part A. Check answers orally with the class>
3. Explain the new words: football boots, swimsuit and tennis racket.
4. Ask the students to complete the sentences on their own in part B. Ask several students to read out their answers.
Step IV
Extension activities
1. Talk about the sports they are familiar with,. Including the information:
(1) Where do they usually play football?
(2) what kind of special clothes do they wear?
(3) How do they play football?
2. Talk about the sports they like most in the past Olympic Games. And the best player in such kind of sport.
