The topic of this unit is “a charity show”. Students should be kind-hearted and sympathetic, so they would be interested in this topic. A theatre is one of the best places to hold a charity show, some words related to a theatre will be taught in this part to help the students learn more about the charity show. So this part plays an important role in this unit.
Students analysis
Students have known something about charities and charity shows, but they are not familiar with them. So they need to practice more to express their opinions freely in class. Some students are not active in class, they need to be encouraged more.

The content of this part it very simple, only some words related to a theatre. To design a task-based teaching lesson, I will introduce the little hero Lin Hao from Wenchuan to lead in this lesson. His school collapsed in that earthquake, and he wants to rebuild a new school. So the main line of this period is how to prepare a charity show to raise money.

• Suppose you are Lin Hao, write an e-mail to your classmates in Wenchuan to them how the friends in Ma’anshan prepare for the charity show. (The quicker students can choose to do this part.)
• Do more things for the people who need our help.

Lin Hao comes to Ma’anshan now.
