What is your favourite toy? 1.My favourite toy is a panda. It has __________ and ____________ on its face, and it has two black ears __________. It has a _______ body. It never _______________. It always ___________! 2.My favourite toy is a monkey. It has a big___________. It has _________ arms, ____________ legs and ___________ feet. It never ____________. Step2.Lead-in and presentation 1. Show Ss a picture of a birthday cake. T:What is it? Yes, a birthday cake. I’m sure you often have a birthday. What else do you do to celebrate your birthday? Let Ss talk about preparing the party. Present: buy some food and drinks in the supermarket/cook nice food for the party/have a big meal/get some presents/ sing the song“Happy birthday”/play games/tell interesting stories. 2. Give some food pictures. Let Ss learn these food names. Step3 practice Ask Ss to practice the dialogue to use “food names”. Model: T: What do you like to eat? S: Some rice, some tomatoes, and some chicken. T: OK. What drinks do you like? S: Milk. T: Fruit? Apples or bananas? S: OK. I’d like an egg, some potatoes, fish and some juice. ……. Step4 presentation 1. T: Millie and her mum are getting ready for Millie’s birthday party. Let Ss listen to their conversation and try to find out what they want to buy for the party. (PPT) 2. Please repeat the conversation after the tape and pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation. Step5 practice Work in pairs and read the dialogue between Millie and Millie’s mother.
