There is some picture of guns; you may found that there is a K in the name of all these weapon .The letters K stands for Kalashnikov, the designer of all these guns.
Kalashnikov was born on 10 November 1919 in Kurya, Altai Krai, Russia .There is the nineteen children in his family .his father was deported when he was still a boy. In his youth, Kalashnikov wrote poetry ,and dreamed of being poet. In 1938, Kalashnikov was conscripted into the Red Army, achieving the rank of senior sergeant tank commander. He was wounded in combat during the Battle of Bryansk in October 1941, and got released for six months recuperation due to illness. While in the hospital, he overheard some fellow soldiers complaining about the Soviet rifles of the time.
He also had difficulties with the standard infantry weapons at the time, and so he decided to construct a new rifle for the Soviet military. Although his first submachine gun design was not accepted into service, his talent as a designer was noticed. The first carbine rifle he designed was defeated out to the new Simonov carbine in 1944. In 1947, he designed AK-47, which make him be famed the world over .In 1956, the AK-47 had became the standard rifle of Soviet Union. After that, he designed series of weapon, such as AKM RPK light machine gun PK machine gun AK74 and AK74 light machine gun etc. He is the most famous weapon designer all over the world because of the popularity of AK-47 in terrorists and anti-government soldiers. Millions of people dead of the fire power from AK-47 since 1956, and 250 thousand people dead every year. The main advantage of AK-47 is its simple design, fairly compact size, and adaptation to mass production. It is inexpensive to manufacture and easy to clean and maintain. Its ruggedness and reliability are legendary. The average service life of an AK-47 is 20 to 40 years depending on the conditions of use. Terrorist and militia like it because of its reliability and operability. You can bury it in sand or bury it in mud, and it can still work. For soldiers, the reliability is really something. It may save their life. But what make AK-47 the most universal killing machine is its operability. It will take a farmer 3 or 4 hours to operate AK-47 expertly, but for M16, it is 2 weeks. As everyone knows that, terrorists and farmers have not enough time in training. The AK-47 may be the best choice. In China, the imitation of AK-47 is called 56 submachine gun. AK-47 and imitation have been used in 50 countries, Kalashnikov is the most successful weapon designer. But Kalashnikov always be criticized for his invention, for millions of people was killed by AK-47, he replied that I constructed arms to defend my country.
