教材分析
本课是EEC教材初中八年级上册第十一单元的第二课Reduce, Reuse,Recycle。承接上Unit7 The world of nature, Unit 10 Earth Day的环保素材,介绍保护环境的3R措施。是本册书与环保相关内容的一个深化和总结。
学情分析
学生们在前两个单元中已经初步了解了我们所生存的地球面临的困境,并通过地球日的学习唤醒了保护环境的意识。这节课通过Reduce, Reuse, Recycle等具体保护环境措施的学习,进一步明确了日常生活中需要做的事情,通过三个单元的信息输入积累,达到了通过文字表达观点进行信息输出的水平。
设计思路
教学目标
1、 掌握跟3R’s 相关的词汇和短语。
2、 了解实践3R’s的原因以及实施3R的具体措施。
3、 熟练运用扫读、跳读、朗读等各种阅读方法。
教学重点、难点
4、 重点:了解实践3R’s的原因以及实施3R的具体措施。
难点: 3R 措施的记忆和扩展为后面的写作的铺垫

Step 1
Free talk
Have a free talk with Ss. Talk about the trouble our planet – the Earth is facing.
Talk with the teachers about the Earth’s trouble.
课前热身,通过讨论我们地球面临的困境,自然过渡到所学的3R内容。
Step 2
Before reading
Learn new words in the lesson. Show some pictures about human beings’ actions. Ask the students if they are right or wrong. At the same time, learn some new words.
Learn the new words in the phrases. Such as “cloth,metal,refillable, shampoo , resource, material, quality, improve and so on.
Tell T or F.
通过提供一些图片和短语设置一些保护环境和破坏环境的情境,让学生判断对错为3R埋下伏笔,并扫清生词障碍。

Reading
Ask the Ss questions:
Why do we have to practice the 3R’s?
Finish Exercise A
What do the three words mean?
Pick up the key words. Write on the blackboard to help the students to remember.
Read the first paragraph to find the answer.
Read the rest parts of the passage to find what “reduce, reuse, recycle” mean.
Remember the key words on the blackboard.
通过问题引领学生通过跳读第一段完成老师提出的问题,寻找实践3R的原因。以时间为线索。通过练习A进行验收。
带着问题进行扫读,弄清楚什么是3R,具体做法是什么。
Step 4
After reading
Finish the exercises to help the Ss understand the passage
Give them some minutes, read the passage again. Ask them to retell the text. First give them an example. Retell it with the students, using the key words on the blackboard.
Check T or F about the passage, Tell different actions abou 3R.
Read the passage more carefully, then retell the story.
阅读后,通过做与文章相关的习题,帮助学生全面了解文章内容。给学生一定的自我时间吸收新知识,再通过复述形式,输出语言,达到在实践中提高能力的效果。

Practice
After retelling the story, divide the Ss into groups. Discuss: What should you do to practice the 3R’s?
Discuss in groups.
Stand up and share their view with others.
联系生活中的实际,扩展所学课本知识,让学生学以致用。

Homework
Show the homework: Write a passage about the 3R’s.
Remember homework
帮助学生运用并巩固所学知识。
