附:听力材料
(Text 1)
M: Good afternoon, may I help you?
W: I am looking for two shirts for my husband.
M: We happen to have some shirts on sale today. Please come this way. Here is the lift.
W: Thank you very much.
(Text 2)
W: You must have visited the Big Ben when you were in London last month.
M: Sure, nobody will leave it out as long as he is in London.
(Text 3)
W: Hi, Tom. Peter has told me about their meeting this afternoon. Will you attend their discussion?
M: No, even if invited. I don't feel like getting involved with their business. Besides, I'm awfully busy myself over my report.
(Text 4)
W: What's the weather like in London today?
M: It's quite cold after a heavy rain and I have to put on my sweater this afternoon.
W: But you said you only had short pants yesterday.
M: But who knows what God will bring us tomorrow?
(Text 5)
W: I just recently moved into the neighborhood last week.
M: What kinds of things have you been doing out here?
W: I haven't been doing much. I don't know what to do.
M: There's all sorts of things to do. How about shopping, or seeing a movie, or even going to the beach? There are plenty of things to do out here.
(Text 6)
W: It's such a beautiful day, a perfect day to take a walk in the park.
M: I think so too. The sky is so clear, and you can see the mountains perfectly.
W: Check out those red roses. You can tell that it's spring.
M: That's because everything's in bloom right now.
W: Look! That man's selling ice cream.
M: Do you want to get one?
W: That sounds so good.
M: It'll be my treat.
W: That's very nice of you.
(Text 7)
W: You seem to be lost?
M: Yes. I can't find the library. I've been trying to find it for a while now, as I'm going to attend a lecture to be held there.
W: Would you like my help?
M: That would be great.
W: Have you seen the movie theater?
M: I know where the movie theater is.
W: The library is on the same block as the movie theater.
M : Really?
W: There's no way you can miss it.
M: I've got it.
(Text 8)
W: People in Spain should wear masks too because of polluted air rather than the H7N9 flu virus.
M: Polluted air? Is it so serious?
W: It's reported that Spanish scientists have discovered there is cocaine in the air of two big cities.
M: That sounds terrible! Are there any deaths up to now? People there can't feel the smell in their daily life?
W: No, and the researchers said there was no reason for the public to be worried.
M: Then I can have a sound sleep now.
W: There is quite small amount in the air. Even if people lived 1,000 years they would not take in the same amount of cocaine through the air.
(Text 9)
W: I feel awful, as my body aches all over. To tell the truth, I didn't have the least desire to get up this morning.
M: How come you feel this way this Monday morning at the office? You must have had an exciting weekend.
W: But it's more tiring than exciting.
M: What on earth did you do on Sunday?
W: I went climbing with my parents.
M: I see. It's really a kind of excellent sports.
W: The mountain climbing makes my bones broken now.
M: How about your parents? They are so tired too?
W: No, they often play sports after retirement.
M: They are more energetic than you?
W: Sure, I even couldn't keep up with them.
M: You should really play more sports in your spare time.
W: But as an IT engineer, I have to stay at the office.
M: Don't complain! You can always spare time if you would like to.
W: Sounds reasonable!
M: How about playing football after work?
(Text 10)
In May 1968, five young couples moved into their new houses close to each other on Beasley Street. Fortyfive years later, they are still there, although most are now retired and their children have left home.
Yesterday, they gathered at Mr. and Mrs. Miller's house to share lunch. The only person missing the lunch was their neighbor Amon, who was traveling overseas.
When the five families moved in, there were a few houses there, and their children played all day at each other's houses without their parents worrying about their safety.
The neighbors often feed each other's pets. When someone goes on holiday, they will water their plants.
Mrs. Brown said she first got to know the Miller family when she and Mrs. Miller took a writing course together, and the pair began a friendship.
Mr. Black said as they got older, he and his wife had considered moving to a small house, but finally decided to give up the idea.
“We've often discussed getting out and getting into a smaller unit or something, but all of us think the neighbors are too good to leave,” he says.

(2021·湖北省重点中学联考)
Everywhere I look outside my home I see people busy on their hightech devices, while driving, walking, shopping, even sitting in toilets. When connected electronically, they are away from physical reality.
People have been influenced to become technology addicted. One survey reported that “addicted” was the word most commonly used by people to describe their relationship to iPad and similar devices. One study found that people had a harder time resisting the allure of social media than they did for sleep, cigarettes and alcohol.
The main goal of technology companies is to get people to spend more money and time on their products, not to actually improve our quality of life. They have successfully created a cultural disease. Consumers willingly give up their freedom, money and time to catch up on the latest information, to keep pace with their peers or to appear modern.
I see people trapped in a pathological (病态的) relationship with timesucking technology, where they serve technology more than technology serves them. I call this technology servitude. I am referring to a loss of personal freedom and independence because of uncontrolled consumption of many kinds of devices that eat up time and money.
What is a healthy use of technology devices? That is the vital question. Who is really in charge of my life? That is what people need to ask themselves if we are to have any chance of breaking up false beliefs about their use of technology. When we can live happily without using so much technology for a day or a week, then we can regain control and personal freedom, become the master of technology and discover what there is to enjoy in life free of technology. Mae West is famous for the wisdom that “too much of a good thing is wonderful.” But it's time to discover that it does not work for technology.
Richard Fernandez, an executive coach at Google acknowledged that “we can be swept away by our technologies.” To break the grand digital connection people must consider how life long ago could be fantastic without today's overused technology.

C.adaption D.attempt
22.From the passage, technology companies aim to ________.
A.attract people to buy their products
B.provide the latest information
C.improve people's quality of life
D.deal with cultural diseases
23.What's the author's attitude towards the overusing of hightech devices?
A.Neutral. B.Skeptical.
C.Disapproving. D.Sympathetic.

Store Scent(香味)
What is the first thing you notice when you walk into a shop? The products displayed (呈现) at the entrance? Or the soft background music?
But have you ever noticed the smell? Unless it is bad, the answer is likely to be no. But while a shop's scent may not be outstanding compared with sights and sounds, it is certainly there. And it is proving to be an increasingly powerful tool in encouraging people to purchase.
A brand store has become famous for its distinctive scent which floats through the fairly dark hall and out to the entrance, via scent machines. A smell may be attractive but it may not just be used for freshening air. One sports goods company once reported that when it first introduced scent into its stores, customers' intention to purchase increased by 80 percent.
When it comes to the best shopping streets in Paris, scent is just as important to a brand's success as the quality of its window displays and goods on sale. That is mainly because shopping is a very different experience to what it used to be.
Some years ago,the focus for brand name shopping was on a few people with sales assistants' disproving attitude and don'ttouchwhatyoucan'tafford displays. Now the rise of electronic commerce (ecommerce) has opened up famous brands to a wider audience. But while eshops can use sights and sounds, only bricksandmortar stores (实体店) can offer a full experience from the minute customers step through the door to the moment they leave. Another brand store seeks to be much more than a shop, but rather a destination. And scent is just one way to achieve this.
Now, a famous store uses complex manmade smell to make sure that the soft scent of baby powder floats through the kid department, and coconut (椰子) scent in the swimsuit section. A department store has even opened a new lab, inviting customers on a journey into the store's windows to smell books, pots and drawers, in search of their perfect scent.
24. According to the passage, what is an increasingly powerful tool in the success of some brand stores?
A. Friendly assistants.
B. Unique scents.
C. Soft background music
D. Attractive window display.
25. Eshops are mentioned in the passage to________.
A. show the advantages of bricksandmortar stores
B. urge shop assistants to change their attitude
C. push stores to use sights and sounds
D. introduce the rise of ecommerce
26. The underlined word “destination” in Paragraph 5 means ________.
A. a platform that exhibits goods
B. a spot where travelers like to stay
C.a place where customers love to go
D. a target that a store expects to meet
27. The main purpose of the passage is to________.
A. compare and evaluate B. examine and assess
C. argue and discuss D.inform and explain
答案与解析
24.B 细节理解题。依据文章其次段最终一句“And it is proving to be an increasingly powerful tool in encouraging people to purchase.”可知,商店里的香味被证明可以起到促销作用。故B项正确。
25.A 推理推断题。依据文章倒数其次段中的“But while eshops can use sights and sounds, only bricksandmortar stores (实体店) can offer a full experience from the minute customers step through the door to the moment they leave.”可知,尽管网店使用声音和图像,但只有实体店才能为顾客供应从踏入店门到离开这一完整的体验。因此提及网店只是为了显示实体店的优势。故A项正确。
26.C 词义猜想题。依据文章倒数其次段最终的“Another brand store seeks to be much more than a shop, but rather a destination. And scent is just one way to achieve this.”
C
