本课是四年级的新授课，有关时间的知识学生没有接触过，课文中涉及到的一些词组学生在三年级时已了解，需要进一步巩固，才能更好掌握。

四年级的学生通过几年的学习，已有一定的英语基础。本课学生对数字并不陌生，但涉及到一些词组较薄弱，学生往往在说的方面较好，但从口头到笔头的练习还是有一定差距。
