Ⅰ.Teaching Procedures
Step 1. Greetings and lead –in
T: Good morning, everyone, today we will learn a grammar the attributive clause .“Did you see Hua Qian Gu in summer holiday ?” Ask some students.
Ss: Yes!
T: Then then show a picture , Ask some students , “Which one is Hua Qian Gu?
Ss: The girl is Hua Qian Gu
T: Then then show two pictures , Ask some students , “Which one is Hua Qian Gu?
Ss: The girl who is wearing a white dress is HuaQian Gu .
T:Then tell students “who is wearing a white dress” is attributive clause.
Ⅱ. Presentation
Step 1. Explain the attributive clause of concept.
T: For example , Hua Qian Gu is a beautiful girl . “beautiful”is attributive .
Hua qian gu is a girl who has Hong Huang of power.
“who has Hong Huang of power”is the attributive clause.
Then explain the attributive clause of structure.
Hua qian gu is a girl who has Hong Huang of power.

T:Explain 先行词是人 who 、whom、that 先行词是物 that 、which
Step2.
T: How to use “who” in the attributive clause. Show a picture , ask students ,
“Do you like the baby?”
Ss: Yes! I like the baby .
T: Why do you like the baby ?
Ss :The baby is very lovely.
T:Just now students describe the baby is very lovely , now we can use it as a attributive clause , l like the baby who is very lovely . “who is very lovely” become a attributive clause in sentence. “who”is subject in the attributive clause .
T: Show a picture , ask students ,“Should we help these children?”
Ss : Yes! We should help these children .
T: Why should we help them ?
Ss: These children are homeless.
T: Just now students describe “these children are homeless” ,now we can use it as a attributive clause , These children who we should help are homeless. “who we should help” become a attributive clause in sentence. “who”is object in the attributive clause .
Step 3 . How to use “whom” in the attributive clause.
T: Show a picture , ask students ,“whose kid the baby is ?”
Ss: (laugh) The baby is our English teacher’s kid !
T:What is your English teacher doing ?
Ss: Our English teacher is holding him in her arms.
T: The baby whom our English teacher is holding in her arms is our English teacher’s kid. “whom” is object in the attributive clause .Meanwhile , “whom” can change “who”.
T:”that” can be subject or object in the attributive clause .
Step 3. Pair work
T: Ask students to do practice
1.This is the man ________ wants to see you .
2. This is the man _________ I saw yesterday .
3. Yesterday I helped a old man _______lost his way .
Step 4. How to use “which and that ” in the attributive clause.
先行词是物 that 、which
The English book which/ that is in my hands is mine
“which/that ”is subject in the attributive clause .
Our school’s canteen which /that the worker will finish next year
“which/that ”is object in the attributive clause .
Step 5. Pair work
T: Ask students to do practice
指出关系代词或关系副词在定语从句中
所作的成分。
The man who came to our school is Mr. Wang.
The girl (whom) I met yesterday is Lucy .
The classroom that is clean and bright is our class.
I like the book which you bought on the Internet.

一、 当先行词是人时
1、 who 作定语从句中的主语或宾语
2、 Whom 作定语从句中的宾语
3、 That作定语从句中的主语或宾语
二、 当先行词是物时
1、 That 作定语从句中的主语或宾语
2、 which作定语从句中的主语或宾语
Step 7 Homework
Discuss about whose how to use in the attributive clause . What are which
different from that in the attributive clause? get into pairs ,make a list .
T: Explain “die out”. Ask some student to make a sentence.Then let them look at the chart on page 25, and find out some endangered animals in China.
Student A: panda
Student B: tiger…
Step 5. Group work
T: Divide students into groups and discuss “why wild animals are dying out?”. Then ask some students to show their answers to others.
Student A: People killed them.
Student B: They had on home.
Step 6. Watching
T:Show pictures and let students find out the reasons why these animals are dying out. Then ask some students to show their answers to others.
Student A: The loss of food.
Student B: Too much hunting
Student C:Living area being destroyed
T: Very good,show picture13, and tell students we should protect wild animals.
Step 7. Exercise
T: Show picture 14 and let students do the exercise,and after a while ask some students to tell their answers.
Student A: dog
Student B:chicken
Student C: cat
T: Very good,you are excellent.
Step 8: Dill
T: Show picture 15 and let students do the exercise,then ask some students to tell their answers.
Student A: endangered
Student B:retired
Student C: dying
T: check the answers and summary.
Step 8: Homework.
T: Show picture 16, let students do homework.
T: Class is over, thank you very much, goodbye.
Students: Goodbye teacher.
