Step1 Warming-up
1.Review the text of Unit 1
2. Show a map of London and talk something about London.
3. Work in pairs.
Look at the map in Activity 1 and talk something about the Tour of London.
4. Introduce the new words.
Step 2: Reading
1. Read the tour of London and follow it on the map in Activity 1.
1) Ask the students to look at the map and familiarise themselves with the places.
2) Explain that they should draw the route given in the passage on their map.
3)Check with a partner.
4) Call back the answers from the whole class.
2. Play the tape and have them read and follow.
3. Mark the places in Activity 2 on the map in Activity 1.
4. Learning to learn
Step 3 Presentation
1. Show some famous places of London and talk something about the photos.
2. Say which places you can see in the photos.
3. Match the words with the pictures in Activity 4.
Step 4 Writing
1. Write directions to places in London. Choose a place to start on the map, and then
choose a place to finish
2. Write directions from your place to start. Don’t say the name of the place where
you finish !
Step 5 Explain the important and difficult points
How to ask the way in English.
Step 6 Work in pairs.
Read your partner’s directions. What is the name of the place to finish?

Finish the exercise in the workbook Ex. 1 & 5.
