Step 2. Pre-reading
Read the book and answer questions below
1. What kind of book is this?
2. What is the theme of the book?
3. What is this story mostly about?
The students may find kindness is the best

Step 3. While-reading
1. Scan the story. And answer this question:
Where did Charity live?
Who did she meet and what she did with the person?
What did the stepmother and her daughter do then?
What did they turn into when they hugged each other?
Do the exercises after each reading method
Step 4. After-reading
Give the students three pieces of advice:
①Sum up by the Ss themselves.
②Learn to smile and learn to live.
③Try to use the reading methods to read.
Ask and answer the questions.
Read the passage carefully.
Do some exercises.
Prepare for their reading and understanding skills.
Make sure the students can understand the story well.
Let the Ss find out the main idea of this story by themselves and know what kind of person they should be.
