《Unit 1 Living on Mars Comic Strip&Welcome to the Unit》教案 Ⅰ.Teaching goals Aims of knowledge: To learn different things we can use on the Moon Aims of abilities: To discuss the advantages of a given situation Aims of emotion: To think about life in the future. II. Difficulties and focuses Teaching focus: Show the opinions about the advantages of given situation. Teaching difficulties: Give the opinions about the life on Mars. Ⅲ. Teaching aids Multi-media Tape recorder. Ⅳ. Teaching procedures Steps Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Purposes Step 1 Lead-in Say: What is life like now? What life will be like on the earth in the future? What will people do in the future? Answer questions. Have more interests in the life in the future. Step2 Presentation Show some pictures: Review “robot”, “helmets”, “pills” and complain Mars Look at the pictures and remind the knowledge they have learnt. Revise the knowledge the students have learnt. Step3 Presentation Explain the context of Part A. Daniel is thinking about what it might be like to live on Mars. He is comparing life on earth to what life might be like on Mars and whether Mars would be a better or worse place to live. Check the students’ answers. Let Ss do Part A on Page 7. Do exercises and think more about the life in the future. Step4 Presentation Ask students to work in pairs to complete Part B. Ask one student to read out the name of each object in turn. Then ask students to say whether they think Daniel should take the object. Ss do Part B on Page 7, and show their own opinions. Learn the objects and show the opinions. Step 5 Listening and Answering Now Eddie and Hobo are talking about Mars. Listen to the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo, and then try to answer: Does Eddie like life on Mars? Why? Ss listen to the dialogue, and answer questions. Get the information from the dialogue. Step 6 Reading and Acting Read the dialogue after the tape, and then act it out. Read and pratise the dialogue. Understand the dialogue, and practice the dialogue. Homework: 1.Revise today’s phrases. 2. Read and recite the dialogue. VII. Blackboard design Unit 1 Life on Mars net guitar sunglasses tent robot pill Can I ask you a question, Eddie ? How do you like life on Mars?
