Unit 11 Could you please tell me where the restrooms are ?
1. 掌握以下词汇:
restroom, shampoo, drugstore, cafe, department, department store, escalator, magic.
2. 掌握并会运用下列重要短语和句型:
make a telephone call, get some information about…, save money, take the elevator to the
second floor, turn left/right, between … and… ,go past, exchange money,a good place to eat .
—Do you know where I can buy some shampoo?.
—Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary?
—Could you tell me how to get to the post office?
—Can you tell me where Center Street is?

【教学过程】
I. Warm up
1、检查生词预习
1)正音:学生齐读单词,有突出问题的单词由老师正音,然后重点强调,齐读。
2)听写:让学生以小组为单位互相批改,小组长报告检查情况。表扬优异者,对于
出错的单词教师结合单词结构,读音规则帮助学生识记生词。例如escalator, shampoo。
2、自由交谈
1)复习巩固: 通过问答的形式,谈论第十单元的内容。
2)为新课铺垫。
教师向学生询问有关问路的问题并引出本单元话题。例如:
T: You’re new to this school. You need to know where the main office is.
How can you ask where the main office is?
S1: Where’s the main office?
T: That’s one way to ask. But there is a more polite way you can ask.
You can say, "Can you tell me where the main office is?" Class repeat.
Can you tell me where the main office is?
Ss: Can you tell me where the main office is?
T: That’s correct. Now let’s say you want to know where Classroom 1 is. How can you ask?
S2: Can you tell me where Classroom 1 is?
T: Good! There’s another polite way you can ask: Could you tell me
how to get to Classroom 1? Class repeat. Could you tell me how to get to Classroom 1?
Ss: Could you tell me how to get to Classroom 1?
T: That’s right. Very good.
让学生观察引导词后面的语序,简单总结宾语从句的语法知识.
II. Pre-task (预备任务)
1、感知:
将本课的主要句型结构“Could you please tell me where the restrooms are? Do you
know if there are any public restrooms around here? Could you tell me where Center
Street is ? Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary?等句子 ”板书在
黑板上领读,齐读上述句子,让学生感知句型结构。
2、体验:
让学生就自己所熟悉的地点用Could you please tell me / Can you tell me /Do you know/
组织对话。例如:
—Can you tell me where yinhe shop is ? —It is between the post office and the bookstore.
—Do you know if there are any shops around here?
让学生观察总结特殊疑问句与特殊疑问词引导的宾语从句的区别
3. Use the description words to make some conversations.
III. While-task (同步任务)
1、 教材内容。
1a: Where can you do the following things ?Match each thing with a place in the picture .
1)读题目要求。 2)读方框中的短语看图,学生写下自己的答案,检查答案.
1b: Listen and complete the conversations.
1)读题目要求。 2)读图中的句子,并让学生说出句意。
3)放第一遍录音,学生只是听。放第二遍录音学生做题。
4)检查答案。
Answers: 1.buy some stamps 2.post office 3.Center Street 4.save money 5.bank 6.Main Street
1c: Doing pairwork
1)给学生造一个例子 2)然后找学生根据the information in 1a表演对话。Eg:
A:Excuse me .Could you please tell me where I can buy shampoo?
B: Sure. There’s a drugstore on Main Street.
2a: Listen .You will hear some of the directions below. Number the directions in the order
that you hear them.
1) Read the instructions and point to the list of directions .
2) The say ,You will hear one boy ask another boy how to find somethingin a
shopping mall.The sentences in your book are in the wrong order .Number the directions
from 1 to 4 to show the correct order .
3)引导学生听录音。
4)放录音第一遍,学生只是听。放录音第二遍学生写下答案。
5)检查答案。
6) 总结重点短语:
Turn left/right , take the elevator/escalator to the second floor, between…and… go/walk past
exchange money.
2b: Listen again. Show how the boy walks to the drugstore.draw a line on the picture above
1)读题目要求。2)T: You will hear the same recording again. This time please show how
the boy walks to the drugstore .draw a line on the picture .
3)放录音学生做题。 4)检查答案。
2c: Doing pairwork
1)读题目要求和表中的句型。
2)让学生利用Could you please tell me /Do you know /Can you tell me对话。Eg:
A:Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary ?
B:. Sure, There’s a drugstore on the second floor.Take the escalator to the scond floor and
turn left.the drugstore is next to the bookstore.
A:Do you know how to get to the bank?
B:. Sure,There’s a bank on the third floor.Take the elevator to the third floor turn right.
2. 语法知识:宾语从句
1) 引导词:
陈述句变为宾语从句时用that 引导.(在口语和非正式场合中可省去that )。
He told us that he could help us .他告诉我们他能帮助我们。
一般疑问句变为宾语从句时用if 引导。
He asked us if we would help him.他问我们是否会帮他。
特殊疑问句变为宾语从句时用原来的疑问词引导。
He asked me when we could go to see him.他问我们什么时候能去看他。
2) 时态: 当主句是一般现在时时,从句可用恰当的时态
He says he is working hard. 他说他在努力工作。
若宾语从句是客观真理,主句是一般过去时时,从句仍然用一般现在时.
He said that the earth is round .他说地球是圆的.
3) 语序:疑问词引导的宾语从句要用陈述语序.
IV. Post-task (任务提升)
Speaking and writing.
提供情景:画一个简单的城市地图让学生有礼貌的问路和指路.利用
Could you please tell me/Can you tell me /Do you know where…?
V. Summary Ask one of the students to say what they have learnt today.
VI. Homework 1. 练习本课的句型及对话,达到自如运用的程度。 2. 做同步学习。
【教后反思】
关于本单元的话题,在以前我们已经进行过一些谈论了,另外本单元的主题句的结构我们也了解了很多,所以学生学起来感到并不陌生。
