Key structure:  verb+wh- word+objective clause eg:I wonder where we should go next. Teaching Difficult Points 【教学难点】  ★Practice the structure in reading comprehension.Learn to ask for information politely and respond people. Teaching Aids 【教学工具】  A tape recorder,CAI or multimedia courseware. Teaching Steps 【教学过程】 ★Step 1 Leading in 【新课导入】 1.Greeting 2.Brainstorming Show different places in a city map.Ask students to make simple conversations by using polite questions to ask for ways to some places. 3.Ask pairs of students to say out the conversation in 2d. ★Step 2 Cooperative inquiry 【合作探究】 1.Finish the task in 3a 2.Finish the task in 3b ①Read the instructions.Get the students to scan the sentences to rewrite. ②Read aloud the passage.Ask students to underline the sentences with objective clauses. ③Get the students to rewrite by themselves.Check the answers and read aloud them. ④Get the students to say some sentences in other words. 3.Finish Grammar Focus ①Show on the board: Where can I buy some medicine? Excuse me,do you know where I can buy some medicine? ②Learn the polite questions.Read aloud the sentences in the grammar frame until fluently. ③Explain: Excuse me… Pardon me… Remind them of the differences between a special question and a polite question.Show the PPT again.Compare the two questions and get the students to learn them. ④Read aloud the grammar again. 4.Finish the task in 4a ①Use PPT to show the 4 questions.Read the questions aloud.Ask:Are these questions polite or impolite? ②Students work and the teacher gives help if needed. 5.Finish the task in 4b 6.Finish the task in 4c ★Step 3 Homework 1.Make conversations between a tourist and a local person after class. 2.Write a conversation about “asking and telling the way to the museum” politely. 3.Translate the following sentences into English. After they learn how to make a polite question,students can practice grammar by using what they have learned in different activities.And we'd better give them some written work after speaking and reading.So as homework,we can ask them to write a conversation about “asking and telling the way to the museum” politely.
