1. He’s buying things for his hobby. (L49)
（1）buy是动词, 过去式为bought,表示“买”，其反义词是sell。
buy sb. sth.=buy sth. for  sb.  “给某人买某物”  如：
Please buy me a new pen. = Please buy a new pen for me.
请给我买支新钢笔。
拓展  buy back 购回…，再买回来，  buy in购入…，买进…
buy for收买（人），   buy out买进（企业等的）股权，
buy up全部收购；囤积

（2）sell v. “卖”，反义词是buy。
sell sth. to sb .或sell sb. sth. “把某物卖给某人” 如：
He sold his house to me.=He sold me his house.他把房子卖给了我。
拓展  sell out卖完       sell up结束营业；脱销   
sell off廉价出售    sell oneself自荐；卖身  
sell like hot cakes畅销

2. I need to put photos on a tree.   (L49)
句中的need是行为动词，表示“需要”，常见的句式结构有：
▲need+名词    如：Do you need more money?  你还需要钱吗？
▲sb. + need to do sth。如：You don’t need to go at once.你不必马上去。
▲sth. + need doing 表示“（东西）需要被…”。如
① This TV set needs mending. 这台电视机需要修理了。
▲need还可以作情态动词，表示“需要”，没有人称和数的变化，后加动词原型，如：
② You needn’t worry.你不必担心。
③ He needn’t go.他不必去。
注意：
用must引导的一般疑问句，其否定回答须用needn’t.如：
④ Must I go now? 我现在必须去吗？？
Yes, you must. /No you needn’t .是的，你必须去。/不，你没必要去。

3. Bring your hobby to school and show it to your classmates.  （L49）
bring…to…把…带（拿）到…。如：
① Don’t forget to bring your homework to school.
不要忘了把作业拿到学校来。
② Bring me today’s newspaper. =Bring today’s newspaper to me .

next  adj.  表示（时间，顺序等）紧接（在后）的，下次的；

see sb. doing sth.表示“看见某人在做某事”。如：
①I saw them playing basketball on the playground.

see sb. do sth . “看见某人干过某事或经常做某事”
② I saw him go into the room .我看见他进过那个房间。
辨析：③ I saw him cross the street.  我看见他横过马路。（表示自动作开始到结束）
④I saw him crossing the street. 我看见他在过马路。 （重点在于动作进行的状态）

grow  v. 栽培；种植；生长。如:grow rice 种水稻
① The rice is growing fine.这稻子长得不错。
▲ grow (同：become , get ) 连系动词：渐渐变成；……起来。如：
② He grew old . 他变老了
③ It grew dark. 天色变晚了。

7. Sometimes I’m glad to be alone. 有时我喜欢自己待着。 （L52）
（1）sometimes  adv.“有时；偶尔”，它与never , seldom , often , usually , always是一类词，表示动作发生的频率，我们把它们叫做“频率副词”。
① Sometimes he goes to school by bus and sometimes by bike.
他有时坐公交车，有时骑自行车上学。
② She is sometimes late for school. 她有时上学迟到。
拓展  sometime  某时   some times  几次   some time 一段时间
（2） alone  adj. &  adv.“独自；孤独；单独”，做形容词时只做表语。
① He was alone in the house. 他一个人在屋里。
辨析：“单独”与“孤独”
alone 表示“单独，独自一人”，不含感情色彩。
② She likes alone ,but she doesn’t fell lonely. 她一个人独居，但她并不感到孤独。
lonely 指“（人）孤独寂寞，（地方）荒无人烟”，有浓厚的伤感色彩，可作定语或表语。
③ A lonely village 孤独的村庄
