13、Have you ever taken photos by using mobile phones with selfie sticks(自拍杆)? This new invention is a small, useful and cleverly-designed tool.
However, a pair of US artists from New Mexico, Arie Snee and Justin Crowe believe they have invented a better one and they call it “selfie arm”. For better or worse, they have taken the world by storm. It makes those people in the pictures seem to be holding hands with a loved one.
The pair say it offers a far better experience than using a straight stick. The selfie arm makes people feel they are not alone when they take photos. It seems that they are together with their friends. They think their invention solves the main problem that the selfie stick has —people look alone while they are taking pictures of themselves with great interests. The product, at present, just an art project and a model, conveniently provides you a welcoming arm. And better yet in the future, it’ll talk in a friendly way and never get angry or upset. The pair say they are fascinated by these new ideas.
The “selfie arm” is made of fiberglass(玻璃纤维). It is lightweight and easy-taking.
The project that they work on shows the growing selfie stick phenomenon(现象) directly and the increasing need for narcissism(自恋) and Internet agreement.

Sleep is like food for the brain. Enough sleep helps the body and brain grow and develop. According to the National Sleep Foundation in the US, adults need seven to nine hours of sleep every night. For students aged 10 to 17, a healthy amount is about eight to nine hours per night.

16、Luke Dollar has spent many years in Madagascar studying lemurs (狐猴).
Reporter: What were you like as a kid?
Dollar: As a kid, I was an explorer. I lived with my grandparents on a farm in Alabama. It wasn’t unusual for me to go to the woods. And I enjoyed that. From the time I was 6 to 16 years old I was an actor. My mom asked me to audition for a show in Birmingham. I asked my mom to buy me some video games and she promised (答应), so I got the part. Later, I became a professional actor. So for several years I went everywhere from the Alabama farm to many other cities — all over the USA doing stage productions.
Reporter: How did you get into your field of work?
Dollar: I grew up on a farm and I was really a wild child and came to love wild things. I did a lot of photography in high school. I became a photographer and did photography for the local paper. Then I became a student of Duke University. Duke has a primate (灵长类动物的) centre — Lemur Centre. I got a job there as a work study student and met lemurs there for the first time.

17、Rome, Paris and New York are the world's top fashion cities, all of which have produced some of the top trends, form high-low skirts to the hottest new shoes. However, have you ever wondered the negative(消极的)ideas that they've brought
In April 2016, the Advertising Standard Authority(ASA) in Britain stopped an ad from Gucci that has models dancing around and having fun, because the models in the ad were all quite thin. (Gucci, a famous brand(品牌)in the fashion industry and the company in question, said, "It was a personal idea as to whether a model looked unhealthily thin." It isn't new to us. The ASA stopped an ad in the year 2015 for the same reason. In France, it has been ruled that models are to provide a doctor's note which could prove that they are at a healthy weight.
This brings up the question of weight, a hot topic for some people. What is the healthy weight for models? While I couldn't find an exact number, I did find this. According to ABC News, "Twenty years ago, the average(平均)fashion model weighed 8 percent less than the average woman. Today, she weighs 23 percent less." This is worrying. When has it ever been okay for anyone, models included, to weigh less than the average?
People may think that being at an unhealthy weight will help him have the advantages that the models do. This provides a standard of beauty, and therefore people who want to achieve those things may try to do this through unhealthy ways. People may also think that they are overweight, c
