2、能掌握文章中的重点短语和句子

1、能够根据所听内容完成听力任务。
2、能够快速阅读课文,掌握文章大意,并回答相关问题。
教学过程
Step1. New words
Learn the new words: Pronounce,increase,speed,partner,born, ability, create—creative, brain, active—activity, attention, connect, overnight, review, knowledge, lifelong, wisely
Step 2Discussion
1. Discuss the items in 1a and check the statements that are true for you.
Let the students read the sentence and make sure they understand them,paying attention to: 1) I don’t know how to increase my reading speed.
2)I often make mistakes in grammar.
3) I don’t know enough words to write well.
2. Write what other things are difficult for you , make a list in 1b.
Step3. Listening
1.Listen to the tape and finish the task in 1c and 1d.
2.Check the answers.
Step4Role-play the conversation
Let the students role play the conversation using the information in 1c and 1d.
Pay attention to the sentence: I don’t have a partner to practice English with.
Step5.Reading
1.Let the students think of what good learning habits they have and make a list.
2.Say “Good learning habits are very important for our study,Read 3a quickly and check if any of the habits you listed are mentioned.Which four habits of successful learners can you find from the passage?
3.Check the answers.
4.Read again and answer the questions in 2c.
5. Try to understand the following sentences:
1)Everyone is born with the ability to learn.
2) Whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits.
3) If you are interested in something, your brain is more active. It is also easier for you to pay attention to it for a long time.
4) Good learners often connect what they need to learn with something interesting.
5) Remember:” Use it or lose it”.Even if you learn something well, you will forget it unless you use it.
6) Practice makes perfect.
7) Good learners will keep practicing what they have learned, and they are not afraid of making mistakes.
8) For example, they may take notes by writing key words or by drawing mind maps.
9) Knowledge comes from questioning.
10) Learning is a lifelong journey.
