StepⅡ. Lead in
1.Ask : If you find a robber robbing sb.,what will you do?
2.Present the new vocabulary
3.Explain the context (with a picture): Look! There is a building. It’s a police station. In the police station, there are three robbers. They are in police uniform. There is a green van nearby. In the van there is a knife. The policemen find the robbers at the traffic lights.
StepⅢ. Presentation
Task 1 speed reading
Ask the students to read the passages quickly and then answer:
How many characters are there in the story?
Who are they? Did the robbers run away finally?
Task 2 listening
Listen to the tape and translate some useful expressions. Listen again, Ss read after the tape.
Task 3 intensive reading
Read the text for several times. By reading, complete some related tasks. Give the students enough time to communicate with each other and enough chance to express themselves. During the course of reading, teach them some useful reading methods and skills.
Task 4 practicing
Doing some exercise to consolidate the understanding.
