Do a survey in group of four.
Teacher: Now you’ve learnt a lot about what you can do to protect the environment. Can anybody tell me some other ways to protect the environment?
Get ready for Part B.
二、自主合作---探锚
探究活动一 Speak up: We can plant more trees.
Teacher: Sandy and Kitty are also talking about how to protect the environment.
Listen to their conversation and tell what they can do.
Play the tape and answer the question:
They can plant more trees.
探究活动二 Play the tape again, find the advantages of planting trees.
(1) Trees make our town look nicer.
(2) Trees reduce dust and help keep the air clean.
(3) Trees help keep soil in place during storms.
(4) Trees provide home for animals.
探究活动三 Play the tape again, let the students read after the tape.
Teacher: Open your books. Read the conversation after the tape sentence by sentence.
Let the students play the roles to act out the dialogue.
Teacher: Boys will play the role of Kitty and girls will play the role of Sandy. Then change roles.
Sample conversation
S1: Water is very important for all living things.
S2: Yes. We should use our water carefully and not waste it.
S1: Right. We can help save water by doing many simple things like turning off the tap while we brush our teeth.
S2: Taking water is good for the environment. I hope all of us do our best to save water.
