The first period
Title: Learn to say

Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Greetings and revision
Ask Ss some daily English
Step 2 Presentation
Point to some real items, say: Do you know what’s in the box? ( take out a green card/ pencil) Look, I have some colours… in my box.
What colour is it? It’s green.
Point to the tree, say: Look at the leaves on the trees. They are green too.
(take out the orange card/ pencil) What colour is it? It’s orange.
Then introduce white and black.
Step 3 Practice
Find out these four colours from Ss’clothes, bags and so on, then ask them “what colour is it ? ”
Step 4 Presentation
Point to the clothes and ask “what is this?” It’s a shirt/ blouse.
What are these? They are trousers/ shoes.
Step 5 Following the teacher
1) Listen to the tape and answer some questions
What’s in the box? What colour is the shirt/ coat? What colour are the trousers/shoes?
2) Read after the tape
Step 6 Consolidation
Let Ss practice the following sentences
What is this/are they? What colour is/are…?
Step 7 Practice
WBp98 Match the pictures with the correct colours
The second period

1) Describe one the student: This is a boy/ girl. His/ her T-shirt/jeans is/are… Who is he/she.
2) ask Ss to describe one of their classmates and let other Ss guess who he/she is?
