Step 1 : Greeting
Greet the whole class as usual
Step 2: New words and 1a
1. Present the new words
T: Today we are going to learn the names of animals. We’ll also learn how to say which one we like and tell why we like them.
(Point to the map of a zoo , showing the picture of animals. )
T: (Poitnt to a panda) What’s this ?
Ss: It’s a panda.
T: (Point to some pandas .) What are these ?
Ss: They are pandas.
T: Thank you .
( Teach “ tigers , elephants, koalas , dophins , lions , penguins and girffes ” in the same way .)
( Point to the animals individually , and ask students to reopeat them as quickly as they can .)
2. Practice the new words
1a : Match the words with the animals in the picture .
Then check the answers.
Step 3 New drills , 1b and 1c
1. Teach the drills
A: Let’s see the lions first .
B: Why do you want to see them?
A: Because they’re interesting.
2. Let the Ss read the new drills and make new drills .
3. 1b Listening and check the animals you hear in 1a
4. 1c Practice the conversation with your partner. Then make conversations about the other animals in 1a. Use the words in the box.
