Step1: Warm up
1. Show some pictures and teach new words and phrases in the lesson.
Learn new words and phrases in the lesson.
To motivate the Ss and prepare for the new lesson.
Step2:Lead-in
1.Ask:
Huang Yangguang can touch the world without hands, Zhang Haidi can touch the world with feet. Do you know this lady? Can she touch the world?
2. Play the audiotape for the first two paragraphs.
Discuss the questions in every group.
The Ss Listen and answer the questions.
To motivate the Ss and lead in the new concept.
Step3: New Concept
1. Read the lesson and answer the questions.
1) What’s the name of Helen’s teacher?

2. Read the lesson again and answer the questions.
