【学习目标】
1. 学生能通过图片或语境认知理解:race, study, American, The United States, any, other young, children, miss,wish, delicious 等词汇,并运用它们来表达朱辉在中国和国外寄宿家庭的生活场面。
2. 通过skimming ,scanning和 discussion等的阅读策略,获取文章信息,并会运用现在进行时态来表达世界各地的人们同一时刻进行不同活动的话题。
了解世界各国的时差现象和中国传统节日-端午节,让学生领略中西方不同的文化习俗。同时让学生体会一下海外游子的思乡之情,并向学生渗透爱国主义教育。
1.Show a picture of Yanzhou,询问时间并猜测其他学生们正在做的事情。
2.Show some pictures of my friends ,clocks and places around the world. Talk about the time in different places and talk about what students are doing in these places.
Before Reading
1.Predict:Look at the pictures and guess what special day it is?
2.Show the time in Shenzhen,guess the time in New York.What are Zhu Hui’s two families doing ?
While Reading
1.Fast reading :Find the main idea of each paragraph.
2.Skimming:Read and circle the time in New York and Shenzhen.

3. Carefully Reading
★(1) Read Para 1 and answer the questions.
How many people are there in Zhu Hui’s family in Shenzhen?
Who are they?
What are they doing?
Then ask: Why are they doing these things.

(2)Close the books and fill in the chart on the paper .
★(1)Read Para 2 and answer the questions
There are five people in the family, too. They are the mother, the father, Zhu Hui and the two young children.
What are they doing?
Then ask: Is there a Dragon boat festival in New York?
So it’s like any other night for them.

(引导学生用自己的话和自己的观点讨论,同时引出本节课的情感目标,对学生进行情感教育。)
After Reading

【家庭作业】
1. Try to retell the TV Report.
2. Make up a conversation between Zhu Hui and his cousin.
