Ⅱ.Students analysis. The students are in Grade four.They have learned English for 2 years,and they have learned the numbers from 1 to 50 .Some students don’t have the habits of arranging the time reasonably,so this time the teacher will ask Ss to develop their habits of that . Ⅲ.Teaching aims: A. Knowledge aims: a. Ss will understand and say the phrases :get up,go to school,go home,and go to bed. b. Ss will say the time correctly and use the structure “It’s time to ……”to describe what they should do at that time. B. Skill aims: a. Ss will say the chant b. Ss will use the phrases and the stuctures in the real life. c. To develop Ss’ abilities of cooperation and communication. C. Emotion aims: a. To develop Ss’ habits of arranging the time reasonably. Ⅳ.Teaching points: A. Important points: a) the phrases :get up,go to school,go home,and go to bed. b) the structuers: It’s time to B. Difficult points: a) the differences between “It’s time to……“and “It’s time for……” Ⅴ.Teaching methods: a) TPR b) Communicated method c) Encouragement method Ⅵ.Teaching aids: CAI, a clock with time and actions, some pieces of paper with actions, some cards. Ⅶ.Teaching procedures: Step1 warm-up 1. greeting 2. Let’s do. Step 2 presentation 1. Play a game: say the time and the actions using “It’s …clock. It’s time for…” Teacher turns the hands of the clock.Ask Ss to say the time and the actions. 1). It’s 9 o’ clock.It’s time for English class. 2). It’s 12 o’clock. It’s time for lunch. 3). It’s 6 o’clock.It’s time for dinner. 2. Present the four phrases:get up,go to school,go home, go to bed. 1).show the PPT and teaches “get up” T: Boys and girls,look!What time is it? S1: It’s 6:30. T: Yes. It’s six thirty.Please read after me. Six thirty. Ss: six thirty. T:Good! Look at the screen,can you guess what will Chen Jie do at six thirty?(If Ss don’t know the English,Teacher can encourage Ss to say the phrase in Chinese.) Ss: 起床。 T: Yes. It’s time to get up.(T speaks slowly, do the action and write it on the blackboard.) Ss: It’s time to get up. 3. Teach the other sentences in the same way. 4. read the four sentences group by group,one by one. Step 3 practice 1. Play a game: you choose,I say. T: Let’s play a game. I will invite two Ss to come to the blackboard.One chooses a piece of paper with time and action,and another one says the sentence using “It’s…….It’s time to…….” If you are right,you can get a prize. 2. Ss read the sentences together. 3. work in pairs. Ask Ss to turn the hands of the clock and say the sentences. Step 4. consolidation 1. watch the PPT,and say the snetences. T: Look at the screen!Who is he? Ss: Liu Xiang. T:Yes.This is Liu Xiang’s day.Do you want to be him and tell us what do you do? S1: It’s 6:30.It’s time to get up. S2:It’s 7 o’clock.It’s time for breakfast. S3: It’s 7:30.It’s time to do morning exercises. … T:Great! We should learn Liu Xiang to develop our good habit to arrange the time. Step 5 wrap up 1.
