The students can review some new words and expressions of the hobbies 2. The students can learn how to master sentence patterns about hobbies 3. The students can understand the text by listening and reading Process and Methods: 1. Through talking, listening, speaking reading and writing, the students can have a good command of key sentence patterns about hobbies 2. Through pair work and group work, the students can improve good cooperation Emotion and Values: 1. The students can improve their interest in learning English by talking about hobbies. 2. The students can develop a wide range of hobbies. Teaching aids: The multi-Media, tape-recorder Teaching procedure: Task Teacher’s activity Students’ activity Aim Warming up Let Ss watch a video. Watch the video. To arouse the interest of the students. Pre-task procedure 1. Ask questions 2. Ask students some questions about their hobbies like “What’s your hobby?”, “When did you take it up?”, “How often do you play it?” 3. Show some pictures and make a dialogue 1. Answer questions 2. Answer some questions and learn the sentence patterns 3. Pair work according to the pictures 1.Review new words 2. To learn the new sentence patterns 3. To know how to talk about hobbies While-task procedure 1. Play the recorder of the text and ask students to complete T&F 2. Let students read the text by themselves and fill in the blanks 3. Let students read the text in pairs. 1. Listen to the recorder and complete T&F 2. Read the text and fill in the blanks 3. Read the text in pairs 1. To have a general idea of the text 2. To improve the ability of reading Post-task activities 1. Group work: Do a survey 2. Summarize the new points of this class 1. Ask student’s relatives’ hobby 2. Students review what have learnt today 1. To use the knowledge and improve writing ability 2. Let Ss review the knowledge Assignment 1. Review the text 2. Finish your homework Consolidate what students have learnt
