Review of Tenses
Content: Simple present, Simple past and Present continuous.
Teaching aims and demands:
By the end of this lesson, the students can:
1. recognize and use Simple present, Simple past and Present continuous correctly.
2. use Simple present, Simple past and Present continuous to express their colourful life.
Teaching procedures:
Step1 Review Present continuous
1. Let students watch the video and answer:
Where are they?/What are they doing now?
2. Play a guessing game.
e.g. Is he/she ….(ing)…?/ Are they…(ing)…?
3. Summary
4. Do exercises, then check answers in class.
Step2 Review Simple present
1. Introduce the teacher’s colourful life.
2. Let students talk about their colourful life.
e.g. ---What do you do every morning/after school
/at weekends/on Sundays? etc.
---I often/usually/always…
3. Work in pairs: Talk about what they do on holidays.
e.g. A: Do you / they usually …at /on…?
B: Yes, I / we / they do. No, I / we / they don’t.
A: Does he/she usually…at/on…?
B: Yes, he/she does. No, he/she doesn’t.
4. Students use ‘am/is/are’ to describe a picture of a room.
5. Summary
6. Do exercises, then check answers in class.
Step3 Review Simple present
1.Look and say: Look at the pictures and say some sentences about what they did in the past.
2.Have a try.
