So how to be a good language teacher is the top priority.There are several qualities that a good language teacher must have. To pass on knowledge to students, a teacher must be competent with the knowledge that she has. Second

4、ly, a teacher must be willing to explore other types of learning styles to pass on knowledge and be ready to try different methods when one does not work. A good language teacher must be passionate about teaching language. Finally, a good language teacher should be able to assess the learning that h

5、er students have done and make changes based on those assessments.A good language teacher must be competent. This requires a lot of study on the part of the teacher. If you are a foreign language teacher, you must have mastered the language you are teaching and the skills it takes to teach that lang

As an English language teacher, you need to have a handle on the elements of English as well as having a background in education.A good language teacher realizes there are several different learning methods. Some learn by hearing, some by seeing and some by speaking. Therefore, a good teacher

7、will create a course that weaves together all of the various learning techniques. A good teacher is also willing to explore the different ways of teaching language, even the experimental ones, to provide her students with the best chance to learn.People do not teach for money or fame. People teach b

8、ecause they have a passion for their chosen subject and for passing on their knowledge to students. A passion for teaching is an important part of the teaching process.A good language teacher is not only skilled at creating assessments for her class, but she can also use those assessments to figure

9、out how successful her teaching methods are. The teacher who understands some things work better than others and some things do not work at all will be able to make changes in her own teaching methods.A good language teacher is going to be a benefit to her students because she will provide them with

A teacher who is good at her job will guide a student toward the most comprehensive understanding of which he or she is capable.Have learnt the qualities of a good language teacher, we should know how to become a real good language teacher.Firstly, a good language teacher shoul

11、d have ethic devotion. The teacher should be a model and set a good example to his students because most students would be influenced by their teachers behavior unconsciously. A teacher with extreme high level of morality often has a potent and positive effect on his students, rather than those with

12、 high teaching standard. So a good language teacher should show their moral quality as well as their knowledge. To be specific, a good language teacher should be fair, not only should he be fair to his students, such as treats them equally, and “partiality” is forbidden, but he should properly regar

13、d the conflicts between different cultures. Besides, he should be kind and ready to help his students both in study and life. Whats more, he should be enthusiastic to his students, and has full passion for his teaching; he should be caring to his students, sometimes, only a caring look, a trusting e

14、ncouragement, or a mild smile from the teacher is enough to touch the students hearts. In addition, hard-working and attentive are necessary for a good language teacher. We should recognize the great value of the teachers who have ethic devotion during the students development. Secondly, a good teac

15、her should have personal styles. A good teacher makes learning not a dull thing but a great joy. Many teachers always keep talking about the textbook all the time so that the students feel it difficult to focus their attentions on what the teacher are saying. As a result, the gap between teachers an

16、d students enlarges. Supposing the language teacher has distinct personal style during the teaching, this problem can be solved. For example, he can make his teaching dynamic by body languages, or demonstrating performance; he can be patient enough and never give up any student, even though some of

17、them are really mischievous and indocile; he can be creative, teaches in creative ways and encourage his students to be creative and open-minded. Meanwhile, a good language teacher can be discipline and authoritative, he should be strict with students when its necessary. Its important to find his un

18、ique personal styles when a teacher is teaching. Last but not least, a good language teacher should have professional qualities. A professional language teacher should be capable enough in your own language ability. He should obtain the capability to have language usage well in hand, and an excellen

19、t command of western culture. If so, he can be more knowledgeable and informed. Whats more, a good language teacher should be versatile, especially in the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It can help students to enhance the focus on realistic communication. Moreover, a good la

20、nguage teacher should be equipped with profession and armed with a range of skills, strategies and information. Before he gives his students a glass of water, he should have a barrel of it. He should grasp a large scope of knowledge of language and take the essence of it, then transfer it to his stu

21、dents. Besides, a good language teacher should be skilled in lesson planning and class management. He should be reflective and keep on reflecting on his classes and his methods of teaching, and in this way he could make progress quickly; he should be resourceful, and have a quick response to the eme

22、rgency. In addition, I think the most important duty of a teacher is get experience about teaching, which is called the experiential knowledge, and after a long period of practice and reflection, he would be able to develop his professional competence, which is the most important and difficult part

23、of being a good language teacher. In addition, a good teacher should be a life-long learner, and make sure that he keeps improving himself in his professional field, and he should always test himself by the feedback from his students, and reflect on his work. As the society develops at an amazing sp

24、eed now, the students today are quite different: they are more independent, and demand a higher standard for teachers, which is a challenge for us. So we should try our best to improve ourselves, and try to be as good a teacher as we can.As the students of an normal university, besides learning the

25、knowledge of being a good language teacher, we should have our own mind, practice our teaching skills and methods. For this part, Id like to share my opinion about my plan for language teaching profession. So, what we expect from our language teachers? Capable, humorous, responsible, kind and so on.

26、 However, these words cant form a system to judge a teacher. Firstly, being a good language teacher, what the premise is being a good teacher, and this refers to some moral requirements. There is a Chinese saying goes that “Teachers are engineers of the soul.” This suggests that teachers are respons

27、ible for our all-round development. As a role model, they not only cure our hearts but also set examples for us. When we were students, we expect our teachers have some characters such as fairness, kindness, and sense of duty. A teacher with extreme high level of morality often has a potent and posi

28、tive effect on his students, rather than those with high teaching standard. Sometimes just a sentence accidentally comes out of a teachers mouth may influence a students whole life. As a language teacher, especially, when we talk about “fairness”, not only do we refer to be fair to every student and

29、 dont isolate some certain one, but also should we properly regard the conflicts between different cultures. Even though we have our own opinions, judgments, or even discrimination, however, avoiding saying some radical words and treating cultures equally is the correct way. In conclusion, a respons

30、ible teacher should aim for integrated development of students, not only in knowledge, skills and abilities, but also in values, attitudes and emotions. Secondly, a professional language teacher should be capable enough in your own language ability and to influence positively on your students. As to

31、 yourself, you should obtain the capability to have language usage well in hand, and an excellent command of western culture. You can not be more knowledgeable and informed. Besides, youd better be versatile, especially in the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. As we all know, s

32、tudents always use English as a tool. So, the utility function is urgently needed. And these four skills help to enhance the focus on realistic communication, which is essential in developing students competence in English. Moreover, a good language teacher should be equipped with profession and arm

33、ed with a range of skills, strategies and information. Before you give your students a glass of water, you should have a barrel of it. You should grasp a large scope of knowledge of language and take the essence of it, then transfer it to your students. Whats more, youd better let your students dip

34、into literature works and train them to have a western way of thinking, which encourage them to involve in the western culture. But these are not enough. You also should be skilled in lesson planning and class management. It is essential to make the class lively and to let all the students engage in

35、 the class. And these requirements need your high level of profession and your own personal charisma. Students like humorous and charming teachers with strong attraction. And even in some dull academic courses, which are hard to make the class lively, youd better provide some jokes related to the co

36、urse to make students interested. Finally, I think a more important duty of a teacher is to be a guide, who protects students interest and cultivate their self-learning skills. Capable teachers should have the awareness to develop their independent spirit, which is also helpful to students personal

37、life and future. A good teacher should teach his or her students “how to teach” rather than “give them fish”. You help them to discover their own way to learn the language, and lead them to find the fittest rules and patterns for themselves. Instead of waiting for the teacher to teach them, they sho

38、uld be taught to be active to look for every chance in using English, such as communicate with others, and speak to foreigners. Above all, good teachers should be organized and ready for their students. As a leader, or a “consultant”, raising students interest in language and train them to own the i

39、ndependent learning skills is the most valuable things to do. Ideally, a good language teacher should be excellent both in his or her professional competence and communicative competence. As to professional competence, we should be familiar to the three stages: learning, practice and reflection. As

40、to communicative competence, we should be qualified at real language use. Nowadays, the significance of English is raised rapidly and the pace of the world speeds up, we teachers should keep processing to make us more knowledgeable and professional.From the character analysis, I have a better unders

41、tanding of myself. The following are my weaknesses:I am not good at saying no to others. Because I am willing to please or help others so I dont want to make them disappointed. As a result, sometimes, I will have difficulty forming my own opinion. I am a little conservative and shy to try new method

42、. I am a sensitive person. I do care much about others opinion on me. I need appreciation and courage to move forward. I focus so much on details that I often ignore the whole perspective. I lack of patience. I lack of teaching practice and experience. According to these weaknesses, I draw a plan to

43、 resolve it. Here are some measures to take to improve where I am currently weak or not strong enough. I should be independent and form my own opinion on things, especially on teaching I need to be more patient when doing things. When doing the teaching work, I should be patient with the students. F

44、or example, I should listen to them with patience and help them solve their problems. I should focus on the whole perspective and have a long-term vision. When difficulties occur in daily teaching, I need to stay calm and dont be so anxious. Do not feel disappointed and lose heart when the students

45、dont understand me and dont make much progress on their study even if I have paid a lot. I should have a long-term vision and be confident of myself as well as my students. To put more effort in my teaching job and try to help the students develop their overall ability. I need to do more teaching pr

46、actices to improve my teaching skills and ability. I will make full use of the coming internship to practice teaching and to improve my capacity of teaching. Moreover, I will often reflect my teaching and write teaching diary to make self-assessment after teaching. I should focus on myself and do th

47、ings in my unique way. Do not care so much about others opinion on me. To form my own way of teaching. To be a unique English teacher. Try to solve problems in a new way. I should update my teaching concepts timely. I should try new way to deal with teaching work. To keep on learning and keep pace w

Teachers responsibilities are not only to teach the knowledge to students , but even more important is to teach the students how to be a good man in the society. Therefore, a teacher should have many good qualities. Especially under the

From the analysis above, Im much clearer now about the qualities I need to become a good English teacher in the near future.
