(一)土壤知识(, 葫芦岛)
You probably don't think about soil often, but the following report may help you learn about science of soil.
What is soil made of?
Soil is made of sediments (沉积物) and humus (腐殖质).Sediment is small pieces of rock broken down over time by rain, ice, and wind.Sediment is often found in water.Humus comes from decayed (腐烂) plants and animals. It helps give plants a lot of the food they need to grow.
How does soil form?
●Over centuries, rock breaks down into very small pieces.
●The rock pieces mix with humus.
●The humus gets thicker and thicker over time.Soil is formed (形成)!
How are soils different?
Soils can be different colors and have different textures (质感).Texture is how the surface of an object feels.Color and texture are two features (特征) of soil.
Plants and soil
Plants do not grow well in some soils.Sandy soil is too dry.It does not hold water.Soil with too much clay is too thick. Most plants grow well in dark, rich garden soil that has different sediments and a lot of humus in it.

(二)中国首富——马云(, 铁岭)
Ma Yun, China's richest man, explains how to lead a successful life.
Think ahead.
“We got successful today not because we did a great job today—we had a dream 15 years ago.”
Money isn't happiness—it's responsibility (责任).
“When I finish school, I made $20 a month, which was fantastic. When you have one million dollars, you're a lucky man. When you have 10 million dollars, you've got trouble, a lot of headaches. When you have more than one billion (十亿) dollars, or a hundred million dollars, that's a responsibility you have—it's the trust of people on you, because people believe you can spend money better than the others.”
Expect the unexpected.
“Life is like a box of chocolate.” Ma said, drawing a line from one of his favorite films, Forrest Gump (《阿甘正传》).“You never know what you're going to get.”
You don't need connections to achieve success.
“We don't have a rich father or a powerful uncle. We only have the customers that support us all the time.”
To change the world, invest (投资) in youth.
“The secret here is helping those who want to be successful.Help young people.Help small kids.Because small kids will be big.Young people will have the seeds (种子) you plant in their minds and when they grow up they will change the world.”

(三)英国——付小费(, 辽阳)
To tip (付小费) or not to tip?And how much should you tip in the UK?English people are often worried about breaking the rules of tipping.
In fact, tipping is welcome but not always the right thing to do in the UK.For example, tipping in cafes (小餐馆) and fast food restaurants can cause confusion (迷惑).If you pay for your order at a counter (柜台) but food is brought to your table, tipping isn't common, either.
In some restaurants, a waiter or waitress takes your order, and then you receive your food and bill at your table, it's common to tip around 10 percent.
In some restaurants, a service charge (收费) may be added to the bill, usually 10 or 12.5 percent. In this case, you needn't add a tip.
When paying by credit card (信用卡) in the UK, credit card tips are paid to restaurants.Check your bill to see if a service charge is added before paying—if so, you needn't add a tip on the machine.
Sometimes when you use a taxi to or from the airport, you'd better tip 2 or 3 pounds if the driver helps you with your bags.
There are many cultural differences between countries. So before you go on your trip, be sure to check the tipping culture online.

(四)怎样保持精力充沛(, 本溪)
Being energetic is important for us.But sometimes we feel bad, or people around us make us feel bad. What should we do to keep energetic?
·Having confidence
Confidence is a feeling. It makes you feel like you are able to do something. But it shouldn't make you think that you are better than others. That is not true confidence.
Our confidence can easily get hurt. For example, a classmate's opinion might influence us.
We care about what others say, and that's OK.But next time, ask yourself who is making the criticism(批评).If the person is only trying to make you feel bad, don't worry about it.You wouldn't want to make friends with such people. If the person is criticizing you to help you, please respect(尊重)their advice.
·Avoiding feeling low
We all have moments when we're not all that happy. It's normal for people at your age.
Lots of changes are happening to your body and in your life. You are becoming taller. You seem a little different from how you did in your childhood. You may want to find out more about yourself and the world.
If you feel bad all the time, there may be a problem.Depression(抑郁)is one possible problem.Depressed people feel sad. They can't relax themselves well.Their eating habits also change.
If you have those problems, talk to your parents and your doctor.
