How to do Proof-reading 赵曲高中 靳丽宁 Leningar Aims: Knowledge and ability: 1. Students know about some common mistake types. 2. Students can deal with some exercises about correcting mistakes. Process and methods: 1.Self-study and group-work to summarize the common mistake types. 2.Practice combined with explanation to master some skills and methods about correcting mistakes. Emotion,attitude and values: 1. Develop Ss' sense of cooperation. 2. Stimulate the interest of Studying English. Learning Important Points: How to master some skills and methods about correcting mistakes. Learning Difficult Points: How to use the skills and methods freely and improve their ability to correct mistakes. Learning Procedures: StepI .Greetings and lead-in. Greet the whole class as usual. Talk something about “proof-reading” StepII . How to do proof-reading. 1.Self-study. Let Students Correct the mistakes in the following sentences. (1) I was only four when my grandmother passes away. (2)We can find a lot of informations in the computer. (3)At school, all the teachers work very hardly. (4)Fortunate , a little girl helped him. (5)Having shown around the lab,we were taken to see the library. (6)Make gifts is fun. (7)What’s even more,I have easy access on the Internet. (8)In past,I didn’t study hard. (9)The weather was cold and sunny,so I would go shopping. (10)Which light travels in straight lines is known to all. 2. Pair-work Have students have a discussion with their deskmates to summarize the steps of doing proof-reading. T 3. Group-work Students discuss the sentences in groups and summarize common mistake types. Summary: A Limerick 动词形,名词数,注意形和副; 非谓语,细辨别,习惯用语要记住。 逻辑错,常常现,冠介缺余常关注, 数有基序代有格,从句细辨引导词。 StepⅢ Practice 1. Students try to find and correct the mistakes in the passages given to them according to the limerick above. Then they will summarize some common mistake types and the rules of doing Proof-reading. 2. Let some students show their answers on the Bb. 3. Check the answers in class. 4. Teacher gives them some necessary explantions. StepIV Learning tips Recommend the students some key points that they should pay attention to. (1)“四不改”原则:①单词拼写不改。②大小写不改。③词序错误不改(应从错词或少词方面考虑)。④标点符号不改。 (2)“五改动”原则:①忠实于原文原则(不可改变原文的原意)。②一对一原则(一处错误改一个词)。③错误以改动最少为原则。④虚词以添加或者删除为原则。⑤实词以改变形式为原则。 StepVSummary Let students summarize what we have learnt in this class.
