could表礼貌请求和征求许可
1. 礼貌地提出请求：
---Could you please do sth.? 请你做某事好吗？/你可以做某事吗？
---Yes, sure. /Yes. /Sure. /OK./Of course./Certainly./All right./Yes, I can.
Sorry, I can’t. I have to……
2. 征求许可：
---Could I/we do sth.? 我/我们可以做某事吗？
---Yes, you can./Yes./ Sure./ OK./Of course./Certainly./All right.
No, you can’t.

三、要点突破
1. 辨析borrow和 lend
borrow“借入”，表示主语向别人借东西，borrow sth. from sb.
lend “借出”，表示主语把东西借给别人，lend sth. to sb./lend sb. sth.
例句：I borrowed a pen from her yesterday. = She lent a pen to me yesterday.
2. 辨析provide, offer和give
provide “提供”，provide sth. for sb.= provide sb. with sth.
offer “提供”，offer sth. to sb.=offer sb. sth.
give “给” ，give sb. sth.=give sth. to sb.
3. as soon as “一……就……”，如果主句用一般将来时，as soon as引导的从句要用一般现在时，例句：As soon as he comes, I will call you. 他一来我就打电话给你。
4. It’s one’s job/duty to do sth. 做某事是某人的工作/职责。
