在一般外企招聘中,英语面试是必不可少的,也是许多应聘者比较头疼的部分。除少数口语优秀的毕业生之外,虽然大部分毕业生虽然过了四、六级,英语口语也不一定非常好。英语水平的提升需要一个长期积累的过程,不也许在短时间内迅速提升的。然而,英语面试能力是能够在短时间内有效提升的,原因有如下几点。
● 英文的面试问题类型有限:大部分问题能够预测。
● 面谈时间不长:英语面试一般不会超出10分钟,求职者回答的时间有限。
● 回答内容比较固定:大部分提问都对应较为稳妥的回答,求职者有充足的时间准备。
● 招聘方的考查目标:对程序员的英语要求在于能读、能写、能交流。
本章列出某些常见的英文问题及参考回答,同时还提供了许多面试中常见的英语词汇供参考。
2.1 英文面试过程和技巧
自我简介时应当记住“3P标准”:Positive(自信),Personal(个性),Pertinent(中肯)。
● 谈吐自信,就是要积极地进行自我肯定,让面试官充足了解求职者的优点与潜能。
● 突出个性,就是要把自己与众不一样的特点发挥出来,强调自己的专业与能力。
● 语言中肯,就是要实事求是,不要言过其辞,夸夸其谈,也不要包括与工作无关的事情。
自我简介应简洁明了,给面试官留下思绪清楚、反应快捷、逻辑性强的印象。自我简介时间不宜太长,最佳控制在五分钟之内,以免言多语失。
另外,在自我简介时应防止过多地使用“I”(“我”),每个句子一开头就冒出一个“I”字,会给人留下自我标榜、以自我为中心的印象。灵活的应聘者往往会把以“I”开头的话,变成“You”字开头。
例如,面试官问:“Would you please say something about yourself?”(请你谈谈自己的情况好吗?)应聘者则说:“Do you want me to talk about my personal life or to say something about the job?”(你想让我谈谈我个人的生活呢,还是与这份工作有关的问题?)
这么,谈话就将求职者和招聘方都调动了起来。这种谈话的方式所产生的效果是不言而喻的。毕竟面试是求职者和招聘方相互沟通和相互选择的一次机会。
回答下列问题时要口齿清楚、语气适中。回答内容要有条理、防止重复。简介工作经历的时间次序采取倒序,从最近一份工作谈起,着重强调有利于新工作的业务经历,凡和本次应征不有关的内容,应尽也许防止提及。
下面是某些面试中的注意事项。
(1)自我简介不要面面俱到。
自我简介时首先用一句话陈述自己的基本特性,然后迅速进入正题,选择自己最引以为傲的经历论述。切记,面试官一般会承办求职者的自我简介发问,因此在做自我简介时最佳不要包括尤其难讲清楚的事情或者比较抽象的概念。另外,在提交的简历中,已经有详细的个人简介,因此面试中只需突出重点。
(2)忌语速过快。
剑桥大学的一项调查显示,语速快一般体现不一样的人具备的两种不一样特质,一个是思维和语言反应能力强且协调的人,另一个是处事急躁的人。英文面试的第一目标是让招聘方了解求职者,最重要的是展示综合素质,绝非单单的语言能力,因此面试中应当首先力求体现清楚。另外,语速过快轻易给人不自信、不稳重的感觉。
(3)语言尽也许简单直接。
习惯于堆砌华丽词藻的人期待在面试中用大气磅礴的英文演讲征服面试官,其实犯了舍本逐末的错误。虚拟语气、倒装句和长词冗句不要在面试中使用太多,简单直接的语言才是在英文面试中最管用的。
面试中话题应当紧紧围绕如下几个方面来展现自己的优势。
● 能力。只有把自己的特长讲足说够,然后才能顺理成章地得出结论:I think your unit needs a man like me。(我想,贵单位需要象我这么的人才。)这么,招聘方会以为求职者是站在他们的立场上说话,在替他们的发展考虑问题,于是更轻易接收求职者。陈述自己的任职资格时,能够这么开头:I’m qualified for the job because…(我能胜任这项工作,是因为……),接着陈述理由。这么,当招聘方在审阅求职者到底能不能胜任职位时,参考的标准已不再是他心目中的标准,而是求职者列举的理由。
● 业绩。外企企业面试喜欢用事实说话,求职者能够把过去的经历联系起来,强调自己处理过哪些实际问题,例如:I developed a business software and sold 50,000 sets in one year。(我开发了一套商业软件,一年销售出去5万套。)
● 诚意。某个问题刊登完见解之后,能够附带加上一句:I’d like to hear your opinion.(我很想听听你的意见。)这句话表白了求职者对招聘方的尊敬,当招聘方在试探求职者的应聘诚意时,应当及时表态:So far as that is concerned, you must have understood my determination.(谈到这里,您一定已经明白我的决心。)

2.2.1 有关工作(About Job)
实际工作中,员工常常需要不停学习和勇于负担责任,求职者假如能体现出这种素质,会给应聘方留下良好的印象。
面试例题1:What range of pay-scale are you interested in?
(你感兴趣的薪水标准在哪个层次?)

2.2.2 有关个人(About Person)
有时候招聘方会提到有关求职者的个人信息的话题,以此判断求职者是否符合他们的要求。例如有些工作需要方言和人脉,适合本地人来做;有些工作需要常常出差,单身的人就有优势。不过有些问题包括到个人隐私,求职者不以便回答,例如招聘方问:“I noticed you're wearing a wedding ring. Do you have any children?”这时最佳的回答就是“Why do you ask?”这么能够掌握积极,了解招聘方真正的意图,也许招聘方只是想懂得求职者是否能长时间留在他们企业。
