Unit 1 Can you play the guitar?
一：教材分析Analysis of the teaching Material:(教材地位)
本单元的核心教学项目是“谈论能力”。（talk about abilities），整个教学内容主要围绕“会做什么”这个话题展开，以此为语言背景，让学生通过7课时的学习感知，初步掌握本单元的语法项目“情态动词can”的用法。本单元的一个突出特点是：语言目标和语言功能能够有机结合起来，即使用情态动词can来谈论学生自己某一方面所具备的能力。
二：教学目标
1. Knowledge Objects：
（1） 单词：sing ,dance, play the guitar,join ,speak English, play chess , swim,
（2）重点句型：Can you…? Yes ,I can. No, I can’t . What club do you want to join? I want to join the music club.

2. Ability Objects：
（1）掌握用情态动词表达自己在某方面的才能，谈谈彼此的特长与爱好。
（2）通过“记者采访活动”和“开设俱乐部”两项任务的完成过程，培养学生的群体意识和合作能力。
3. Moral、Attitude and Value ：
（1）通过语言交际训练，激励学生在班级展示才艺，增加学习乐趣。
（2）通过学生模拟记者采访，模拟用人单位，对所需人才的招聘和应聘，让学生意识到能力在社会上的重要性，从而激发学生不断进行探究，自主学习知识，为今后的人生道路积累更多的、更丰富的才艺。培养学生的群体意识。
三：教学重点
本课中的重点内容是使用情态动词can 询问和谈论自己在某一方面所具备的才能，学习情态动词can的基本用法。重点词汇是dance, swim, sing, play chess, draw, speak English, swimming club, English club, art club. Can you…? Yes, I can. No，I can’t . Can he…? Yes, he can. No, he can’t.
四：教学难点
情态动词 can 的一般疑问句，用情态动词can来谈论彼此的特长与爱好。

（1）教学方法：直观教学法、情境教学法、任务型教学法
（2.）学法指导：培养学生课前预习、自主学习、认真听课、认真作业和认真书写的习惯
（3.）教学用具：录音机、电脑、卡通图片、实物和多媒体课件
（4.）授课方式：新授课、听说课、习题课、复习课、多媒体课
七:教学过程
Step1: Pre-task Activities
. 1．Greetings通过Free talk，使学生以自然状态投入英语课堂学习中。
2．Ask and answer with “What’s his in English？It`s a …Do you like basketball/…？Yes，I do./No，I don`t.”
用图片来复习一些体育用品，为下面的导入做好铺垫。
3．Leading-in
Present “Can you play basketball/…？Yes，I can./No，I can’t.” 
用体育用品或图片来引入情态动词can的一般疑问句，使学生通俗易懂。
 4．New words
Use the pictures of stars and objects to teach the following new words“sing，dance，chess，play chess，speak English，guitar，play the guitar，swim，paint，join，can’t =can not”.Then the students learn and read them aloud.    
通过明星照和图表来呈现生词，让学生记忆深刻，吸引学生注意力，提高学习兴趣和学习效果。
5．Do 1a 
Get the Ss to look at the picture，match the words with the people ,then check the answers.巩固所学的词汇，使学生更好地掌握本课的重点词汇，扫除语言障碍。
6．1b
Play the tape，the Ss listen and number the conversations（1-3），then check the answers.   
通过听录音机磁带，给句子排序，来训练学生听的能力。
7．Pairwork
Get the Ss to read and learn the drill“I want to join…Can you…？Yes，I can./No，I can’t.”Then practice it in pairs.  先让学生机械操练这个句型，从而熟悉这个句型，为下面句型的应用做好准备。
8．Make a survey
Divide the Ss into several groups to make a survey with the drill above，and fill in the chart，then get some of them to present their conversations.     
通过调查，让学生使用重点句型和情态动词进行交际，从而掌握好本课的重点句型和语言点。
StepⅡ While-task Activities
1.A task：Get a student to be a star, the other students use the drills that they learnt to ask“ the star”.
创设较真实的交际情景，使学生自然真实地运用can来谈论自己某方面的才能等，达到交际的目的。
2．Do a chant   Get the Ss to learn and read the chant.
这个活动，让学生巩固本课的重点词汇和语法，同时又可以缓解课堂气氛。
3．Get Ss to look at“ Chang’e” and ask Ss to study hard for our country. 
通过欣赏嫦蛾一号，激发学生的学习动力，以及培养学生的爱国主义情操。
八：.Summary. Sum up the new words and the drill.   
总结单词，句型和语言点，使学生更好地掌握语言知识。
