Revise the simple past of the irregular verbs we have learned. do—did, buy—bought, go—went, and see—saw,have—had, take—took, eat—ate, hang—hung 2. Making simple past sentences with these irregular verbs. Step 2 Presentation I.3a Let students go to page 49 to read the article and correct the statements below it. While reading remember to cut/ the sentence into thought groups, study all the predicates, circle all the linking words and underline all the expressions. 2.Let students retell the article according to the picture. 3.Let students read the text again to turn it into a conversation. 4.Making a list of regular and irregular verbs and their simple past forms. Then read and remember them. go →Went to the science museum visit →Visited the Disneyland climb →Climbed the mountain surf →Surfed the Internet buy →Bought junk food drink →Drank good milk … II.3b 1.Let students make conversations with the given phrases to describe the past. Let students play a game.( make up a story). Each student adds a sentence. 1. Last week I visited my aunt’s house. 2. She lives on a farm. The weather was beautiful. 3. I went there by bus with my parents. 4. On the farm I saw many animals, such as cows, sheep, horses and pigs. 5. I like horses best. So I tried to ride one. 6. But it didn’t like me to ride it. Step3 Summary The rules of the past form: Did you do…? Were /Was there …? What did you …? Where did he…? Who did she…? Revise the simple past of the irregular verbs Making sentences by themselves. Read the article and correct the statements below it. Retell the article. Practice in pairs to turn the passage into a conversation. Read and remember the past forms. Making conversations using the given phrases with a partner. Students make up a story together.
