教学目标
Objectives:
To understand the key words in the context:proud, strength, sweat, show off
To grasp the general idea, find out specific information of the story and analyze the characters about the main characters through skimming, scanning, sequencing and detailed reading
To extract the main ideas beyond the lines and comprehend the features of fables
2学情分析
本班学生为初一3班分层B班程度较高的学生,该班大多数学生英语基础较好,学生思维较为活跃,但班中仍有一定差异性,班中三分之二学生主动积极,但也有三分之一学生学习较为被动,不善于积极参与学习。班中学生认知风格也有较大差异,不同学生需要听说读写感知等不同方式进行学习,因此在教学中特别强调图片感知,表格图形变化(视觉)、语气变化(听觉)和剧本改写表演(触觉)等的运用,强调个性化学习。考虑到部分学生较腼腆,因此在教学中教师要努力引导其多思考及表达,使其抛开顾虑,让学生在合作学习和自主学习选择中得到个性化学习。只有最大限度的满足个体需要,才有可能获得最大化的的整体教学效益。
3重点难点
重点:
1. 复习巩固形容词修饰系动词;
2. 提炼本篇故事的寓意;了解寓言的文体特征。
难点:
运用新授词汇,用创造性的语言合作演绎故事。

4.1第一学时
4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】导入
1. Review the fables students may have known about.
2. Get to know the two main characters of the story and predict who won the competition.
活动2【活动】任务实施
~1. Skim the story, put the paragraphs in the correct order and tell the reasons, then match the corresponding picture with each paragraph and describe the pictures.
~2. Scan Para.3&4 and underline the verb phrases to show what Mr Wind & Mr Sun did during the competition and what happened to the man.
~3. Read the whole story, pick out the adjectives to show how Mr Wind’s feelings changed and read out the relevant sentences in proper tones.
活动3【活动】读后环节
~1. Have a discussion: What does the story tell us?
~2. Create scripts and act the scene out in groups according to different stages of the story.
~3. Tell the elements of fables.
活动4【作业】作业
1. Act out the story or make a picture book.
2. Help Mr Wind think of an idea on how to beat Mr. Sun in the coming competition.

I.Pre-task preparation
1. Look and say
Review the formation of comparative and superlative of adjectives:
big- bigger- biggest; small- smaller- the smallest; beautiful- more beautiful- the most beautiful
Review pronouns: mine,yours,his,ours,hers.theirs
II. While-task procedure
1. Look and read
Give the students time to read the dialogues silently.
2. Listen and read
Play the cassette. The students follow in their books.
3. Act out
select appropriate pairs, groups of three, groups of four to act out the dialogues.
4. Draw and talk
5.Do some exercises
III. Post-task activities
1. A survey
a Groups compare their pictures of kites and complete the survey.
b The students answer the questions.
