1教学目标
（一）教材分析
授课文本选自《英语（牛津上海版）》八年级第二学期Module 2 Unit 5 Magazine Articles的补充阅读材料Scientists Discover a Sixth Sense。本模块以“大众传媒”为主题，而单元话题则围绕“杂志文章”，呈现了杂志文章可能涉及的内容与体裁。该文本是依据Dr Sheldrake的一项真实的实验报告展开，探究人类在被人盯着看的时候，是否有能力感知，是一篇科普性较强又不乏趣味的文章。依据牛津教材对More Practice这一栏目设立的要求，该文本旨在对主体作进一步的延伸，帮助学生了解科普文章（作为杂志文章的一个常见分类）的基本要素，并联系生活拓展学生视野。
（二）教学目标
通过阅读，学生能掌握本课目标词汇：five senses (hearing, smell, sight, taste, touch), stare at, prove, blindfold, blow a whistle, in random order等。
通过预测、略读、细读等不同的阅读技巧，学生能对第六感有一个基本的认知。
通过合作学习，学生能了解实验报告的基本要素，并加以实际运用独立完成实验。
通过结合自身经历与实验，学生的辩证思维能力能得到提升。
2学情分析
授课班级为八年级外招班，整体基础水平较好，学生思维敏锐、记忆力强、课堂注意力集中，具有良好的创新意识和丰富的想象力，以及良好的自主学习能力。在单元主课文的铺垫之下，学生对杂志文章的表现形式有了基本的认识，又因为授课班级对科普性知识有较为浓厚的兴趣，更加适合拓展性思维的课程内容。
