2. Ability goal: learn to make descriptions
3. Moral goal: enable students to learn how to talk about the same and different between two people with the target language and realize that friendship is an important part in life, and try to get along well with friends.

Step 1: Revision
1. Greeting
2. Review the description words of personalities and appearance
For example (showed by slides)
擅长,善于--- be good at 喜欢做某事---enjoy doing sth
和…相同—the same as 使某人做某事---make sb do sth
使某人欢笑—make sb laugh 有趣的---funny
Step 2: Presentation
1. Describe and compare different people
Use comparative degree(比较级)
simple structure(结构)
主语+谓语+形容词比较级+than+对比成分
2.Show pictures and then let students use the sentence structure to make sentence
(On the slides)
Gigi has shorter hair than Jolin .
Jolin has longer hair than Gigi.
3.Find difference (show a video and fill the blanks with comparative degree by slides)
Questions:
Who has longer hair?
Who is calmer?
Who is wilder?
Anny’s hair is_______ than Helly.
Helly is _______and more_________ than Anny.
She is also more athletic.
Transition(in order to lead to the other part—a friend)
The same and different
Sometimes in some ways people look the same, and in some ways people look different
As we know(据悉), friends always share(共享) the same interests(兴趣). And some friends have opposite(相反的) views(观点) and interests.
Step 3: Lead-in
1. Thinking (question designed for students)
Question: What kinds of things do you think are very important in a friend?
Match the picture and phrases (showed by slides)

Step 4: Play games- guessing games (Do you know who is he/ she?)
Describe: She is taller than me.

She is as good at math as me.
Do you know who she is?
(Examples showed by slides and students have deep impression of phrase “be good at ”)
Step 5: Oral practice(Oral composition)

name—appearance(外貌)—personal traits(性格特征)
appearance: tall/ short, thin/ short, heavy/ fat/ strong/ good looking / athletic/ long hair/ straight hair / medium build
personal traits: friendly/ kind/ easygoing/ outgoing / calm / funny/ serious / quiet
Step 6: Summary (Fill the blanks and introduce proverb “A friend in need is a friend indeed”)
