3.知识点击：
(1) I must ask him to give up smoking .
ask ... to do sth. “要求、、、做某事”
give up + doing sth. 放弃做某事。如：Li Lei gave up playing basketball .
give up接人称代词时将人称代词放在两词中间。
（2）May I borrow your newspaper and show it to my father ?
may情态动词，“可以”，表示允许或征询对方的许可。如：May I come in ?
在回答may引导的疑问句时，肯定回答用Yes , you may . 否定回答用No ,you mustn’t . / No ,you can’t .
