2. To use some appropriate expressions to talk about sports.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1:
1. Present some kinds of sports and learn the new words at the same time. (volleyball, tennis, football, swimming, walking)
2. Exchange some personal information with the Ss (hobby etc.).
A: Hello, I like / love/ enjoy playing … . What about you ?
B: I like / love/ enjoy playing …
A: I’m good at ….. What are you good at?
A: What’s your favourite sport, …? B: ….
A: I go swimming every week. What about you? B: …
A: Do you often …? B:….
3. Finish the ex. in Part A on page 19.
Step 2
Listen to the tape and work in pairs to talk about your favourite sport. Use the conversation on page 19 as a model.
1. Listen to the recorder.
2. Work in pairs and use your own information to replace.
3. Act out the dialogue with your own information.
Step 3: Lead in
Sports are good for us. But sometimes we are busy and have no time. I think walking is also good. I like walking and I walk in the park many times a week. ( time ) Do you like walking? Do you often walk to school? Do you often go walking in the park? ( walk, walk to , go walking)

Step 4: Present the comic strip.
Show the comic strip to the Ss. (Video)

Step 6: Practise the dialogue.
1. Listen to the tape and follow in chorus. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
2. Read the dialogue in roles.
Step 7: Summary
