③I wanted to talk to Sandra，but I didn’t know how to begin.

┃教学过程设计┃

一、创设情境，切入主题
Step 1　Lead－in
Lead in by discussing the following questions：
What grade are you in this school / term year？
How do you feel on the first day？
What do you think of your new term？
Discuss the questions in groups.The teacher shows some pictures，such as：a new classroom，new teachers，a physics book.
Ask the students to talk for three minutes.Then let them present the answers in class.
二、展开过程，探究新知
Step 2　Listening
Listen to the tape and answer the questions：
How do you like your first day of Grade 8？
Who does Danny want to talk to？
What’s Li Ming’s idea？
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3　Reading
Read the text and decide if the following statements are true or false.
1.Danny has three new classmates this term.
2.He has a new Chinese teacher.
3.Li Ming thinks physics is too hard.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 4　Activities
1.Introduce your new term in groups.How do you like the new term？How many new friends do you have？What new subject do you have？Make a dialogue in groups of three or four students.Then present it in front of the class.
2.Work with your partner.Act out the dialogue between Danny and Li Ming.
Step 5　Write a short note
Suppose you are going to introduce your new school year.Write a short note.Remember to tell something about your class and friends.Practice for a while.Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6　Come to “Let’s Do It！”
Read the dialogue again.Finish off Exercise 1.Listen to the tape and finish Exercise 2 together.
Work with your partner.Act out the dialogue.Suppose you and your partner are Danny and Li Ming.
Practice for a while.Then ask some students to present their dialogues in front of the class.
三、布置作业
Finish off Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It！”.
